Original Song Title:

"Some Enchanted Evening"

Original Performer:

Robert Goulet

Parody Song Title:

"Slummed A Slanted Evening"

Parody Written by:

Airfarcewon

The Lyrics

Slummed a slanted evening,
Came home with the staggers,
Face resembled Jagger's
Big bloodshot eyes to boot
My wife followed suit..
And almost filed same..
One great office party,
But I reap the shame...

Slummed a slanted evening
Mingling and flirting
Slouched and wrinkled shirting
But broads ate from my hands
All begging for more
And licking my words
Lined up for fast dances,
Like buffalo herds...

Who can defend it,
Who can alibi..
Time spent was splendid
But now I nurse black eye..

Slummed a slanted evening
Tilted this and that way
Often fell a flat way
Squarely on my face..
A total disgrace..
So-ber, I'd agree
But king-ing that party,
I ruled, graciously..

Friends can't deny it,
Friends will vow the truth
Last night, I'm Wyatt,
Now I Earp vermouth..

Last night, I'm Wyatt,
Today..I...Earp...ver..mouth..

Roger your getting Hammer-steined. Wyatt Earp too cool. You need a Doc and a Holliday to get rid of this hangover, OK, Carl?

Wow!..it's cute, now that you clued me...but even my dog, Sniffy couldn't sniff that one out...."Gunfight at Ok Carl"...no more calls, we do have a winner..for the most subtle pun of the year, (or quite possibly, the decade) award..

Sorry I'm a little late, but this parody was well-written as usual, and it matches up perfectly to the OS as far as pacing and accentuation go. I've had some evenings like those, although I don't drink as much as I did when I was in high school and college. 5s.

Thanks, Andria..one must not drink to excess, nor run down that "Alka Hall" too much...and thanks, blackjack..nice rhyming there..

The wording was so sublime, yet punny. I can imagine Rob. Goulet singing these words. :) My favorite verse..".Last night, I'm Wyatt, Now I Earp vermouth.." :D
