The Lyrics

Looks like we have 2 years of nonsense and horses**t to look forward to. 24% of the country gave us the shaft. (40% voted, 60% Republican---do the math)
Son, don't go hear the Republicans; Please stay away!
Son, don't go hear the Republicans
Don't do what they say!

Since I was just an intern boy up on Capitol Hill
I would hear wild stories about Republicans
T'was a real thrill

I'd bitch & moan and holler like them
I wore wing-tips on my feet
And I'd make believe I was compromising every time I felt defeat

My heart was stone cold, it was greedy fun...
Lots of lobbyists around
But the Democrat Party didn't thrill me none around my gerrymandered hometown

Son, don't go hear the Republicans; Please stay away
Son, don't go hear the Republicans
Don't do what they say

One day I went into the Chamber and there was a big debate
and I heard the Republicans filibustering
their voices filled with hate

My friends & me all quickly left but the next day we returned
And it wasn't very long till we all saw how the hate in their hearts burned

Son, don't go hear the Republicans; Please stay away!
Son, don't go hear the Republicans
Don't do what they say

I told my daddy I'd found a Party that made some sense to me
And tomorrow I'd chat with Speaker Boehner and talk with Michael Lee
Their fork-ed tongues spoke loudly as they told me all their lies
Obamacare they could never take; Just let them poor folks die

(Spoken)
Son, the Democrat & Republican Were fighting since before we were born
And a Senator called Bob Dole brainwashed my intern boy
So I hired you to get even for what he'd done

Though you're a full-fledged Republican, son
I like you as much as my old little intern that's corrupt.
And, son, Michael Lee is a Tea Partyer
And that's why I've always said

Son, don't go hear the Republicans; Please stay away!
Son, don't go hear the Republicans
Don't do what they say

November's over. Tuck your tail between your legs and sod off to Sheol, loser.

Looks like somebody felt the need to show everyone why the message of the song is a reasonable one. Anonymously, too: shows such courage of ones convictions, don't you think?

Another leftist liberal chimes in. My advice would be to bow to Obama until we all go under financially and the middle class is eliminated. Obama is an overreaching, budget breaking, socialistic, liberal, weak CIC and POTUS who talks a lot but fails to confront Russia over Ukraine, China over industrial espionage, N Korea and Iran over state sponsored terrorism, Syria over human rights violations, but someone who allows the NSA to spy on Americans and who is tearing up the Constitution with illegal, immoral Obamacare while refusing key projects like the Keystone Pipeline and any attempt to upgrade our armed forces. Obama is a fraud, a bumbling statesman, a traitor to his race, and a liar. I'm sure some whack Demoncrats will rush in to talk about the DOW, low gas prices, and peace with Cuba, but they always avoid the debt Obama has caused now exceeding roughly nine trillion dollars in his two terms! Wait until he defaults on our debt and plunges us into non-recovery financial collapse. What a legacy! Worst President ever.

Ah.. so you've got no knowledge of politics, economics, or even morality. No wonder you sound so annoyed and are afraid to use your real name. Go back to watching Fox & keep the brain on hold for the next few years. Truly pathetic.

Any time I write a parody that sends the Republicans off the deep end, it is a blessed day. Now that the GOP owns Congress, I can't wait for the next financial collapse, the next scandal or the next man-made crisis. Can't obstruct anymore guys---you are running the show. Let's see how much crap you can give us before 2016. Obama may let your side get away with it---I doubt Hillary will.

For those who still believe there are two political parties in Washington. It's them and us. Always has been. Those who have, and those who want to take it away.
Blue Collar Guy - December 23, 2014 - Report this comment
Bloody nonsense, Patrick! Who's promoting class warfare, now? Nobody wants to take away anything from anybody. Everyone with a conscience deplores the widening gap in wealth, which is increasingly worldwide. And everybody who cares about fairness wants the education, infrastructure and safe neighborhoods for their kids so that they may be able to compete for and earn a decent share of the enormous American Pie. Your apocryphal vision of the poor is on a par with Reagan's fantasy Welfare Queen.

@Blue Collar Nutter you obviously don't live in America. Politicians make huge salaries and are corrupt as hell siding with their lobbyist buddies who buy them off. The 1 percent are robbing us blind while the Gov takes away all of our rights and taxes us to death. Thanks to Kenyan Obama the United States will soon become a third world sh*thouse ala the African Model the UN and Golden Billion support to no effect. Get real man and take your head out of your arse.
Blue Collar Guy - December 24, 2014 - Report this comment
@Moderate: I have no quarrel with you about the untouchable 1% and lobbyists writing laws, but the big, bad Government isn't taking away all your rights -- it's trying against big odds, like corporate and increased individual campaign contributions, to regulate destructive behavior on the part of the NRA, Big Oil, etc.; the rich are under-taxed and still have tax shelters in the Cayman Islands and elsewhere; Obama isn't Kenyan -- he's All-American; the U.S. is here to stay largely because of the infusion of talented immigrants; within 5 years, MLB will have a super team from Havana; and my arse you're a Moderate.
Obama's a Bum - December 24, 2014 - Report this comment
Biggest cyber attack against America and what does Obammy do? Put the blame on the victim Sony and takes a trip to Hawaii. This President has no balls. His unauthorized foreign policy decision regarding Cuba is also another example of power abuse. Making friends with a commie thug who runs a prison island without consulting Congress is Un-American and illegal
Callmelennie - December 24, 2014 - Report this comment
What a bizarre spin, Jeff -- 24% of the country gave the rest of the country the shaft. I don't recall Republican voters keeping other voters away from the polls with handguns. If huge numbers of Democratic voters stayed away from the polls or couldn't be bothered to take one minute to fill out an early ballot, it either means they had no confidence in their party or they are grotesquely lazy and irresponsible; in which case they gave themselves the shaft ......... Government caters to the WILL of the electorate, to those who made their opinions count via the ballot box
Blue Collar Guy - December 24, 2014 - Report this comment
You're quite the comedian, Lennie. "Government caters to the WILL of the electorate..." The fact is that Government caters to the will of money. You suggest that voters have free agency. They don't. There is empirical proof that advertising, branding, repetitive slogans, and lies work. If they didn't, the advertising industry would have folded two centuries ago.
Eisenhower, our first TV president, was the first politician to be sold like "a tube of toothpaste," as was said at the time. Stevenson was branded an "egg-head," and this was gobbled up by the vast number of anti-intellectual and anti-big city folks who fell for the labeling. All this takes money -- big money. (After all, you had to pay Irving Berlin to write "I Like Ike.")
Why is such a fuss made over the Citizens United case, which ludicrously declared a corporation a person for the purpose of paying for campaign propaganda? Why is there joy in the homes of the rich? The individual is now allowed an order-of-magnitude increase in his campaign contribution.
What is the main activity of a congressperson? To raise money for the next campaign, followed by the quid pro quo of being entertained by and voting for their big money sponsors' interests. This country is run by monied interests, aka corporations. Don't tell me about Big Unions. John L. Lewis and Walter Reuther are dead. Democracy died a-borning.
Republicans won more races than Democrats last month? No, Republican money won -- not just that fueling the last election -- but all the previous money, too, which sought to differentiate between the two parties. It's like selling soap: Dove vs. Camay. You end up buying or voting for a brand, based on a lot of TV bloviation about values and rights and freedom and evil and exceptionalism.
Do you buy a useless, unregulated herbal supplement? Your worries about personal health are being exploited by industry-paid Dr. Amos Oz and Sen. Orrin Hatch (R - UT). And so you have fallen for advertising in all its manifestations. Advertising works. There are intelligent, educated people (even at this site) who vote against their best economic interests because branding a campaign, through advertising, to emphasize "values" leads them to imagine that the peasants are about to storm their middle-class huts, pack them into tumbrels, and cart them off to the guillotine.
Finally, I wish you all a Merry Advertising Season and hope to watch the glitzy Super Bowl commercials with you.
