The Lyrics

Well, you know what happened. Tennis champion Serena Williams had a melt down at the U.S. open while two sets down and verbally assaulted a tiny female line judge for a foot fault call and reportedly screamed, 'If I could, I would take this ******* ball and shove it down your ******* throat.' Now, we all lose our temper from time-to-time but Serena refused to apologize after losing the match, being fined $10,000, and facing possible sanctions, etc. After a couple of days to cool down she finally issued an apology. I was inspired to write the following parody:
SERENA, SERENA

I saw Serena, said a naughty word
I saw Serena, with her anger stirred
I wish to God, that I had misheard

Serena, Serena
Serena, Serena
Serena, Serena
Say it ain’t so

Oh dear Serena why’d you have to shout?
That judge was right, you didn't have to pout
Why’d you threat to shove that ball down her mouth?

Serena, Serena
Serena, Serena
Serena, Serena
You ain’t no ho

I heard Serena’s sorry that she cursed
After she first told us that she had done much worse
If you see Serena sing this little verse

Serena, Serena
Serena, Serena
Serena, Serena
Don’t curse no mo’

Serena, Serena
Serena, Serena
Serena, Serena
It’ll cost you dough

Serena don’t talk trash
It’ll cost you cash

FADE:

Serena don’t talk trash
It’ll cost you cash
Tennis anyone? (Kudos to anyone who knows what famous actor first uttered that phrase on stage in "Hells Bells)

Proper spanking spoof to naughty Serena...No excuses, really, for a top tennis star and celebrity, of her stature, resorting to such street gutter language, and tactics..she tarnishes an, otherwise, sweet ebony image..timely, topical, and fine work

Well said and deserved by Serena. It was quite a difference when Federer went down. He was a little angry at a call earlier in the match, but was gracious at end.

Humphrey Bogart. (No kudos necessary... just whistle!) ;)

@ AFW - Thanks! Yeah, she finally realized she did wrong. Actually, the apologists who were trying to excuse her behavior were really being demeaning to her, IMHO. She messed up big time - now learn from it and move on.

@ Timmy1000 - It's an emotional environment to perform in. I don't get as upset when someone cracks as much as when they don't admit they messed up and/or repeat the same behavior.

@ Fiddlegirl - And I know how to whistle, FG. *whistles* Btw, there's a clip of that scene from "To Have and Have Not" on YouTube. Lauren Bacall was 19 at the time.

Those tennis players are known to be outrageously competitive, so you'll expect tantrums thrown by them. That Serena is really something else, raving and ranting over a foot fault! This is the most outrageous thing I ever heard since John McEnroe's tantrums, not to mention throwing his racquet, Jimmy Connors raging fit, etc. I've been surfing through sites on Worst Tennis Tantrums. Anyways, 5's on putting humor relating to trash talking!

Excellent! (as always). The most absurd part in all of this was Serena thanking everyone for their support during this ordeal, as if she has no culpability, when clearly the fault lies soley at her feet.

Thanks LSUFreek! Too bad you couldn't do one of your PhotoShopped editorial funnies at TSNB with music. :-D

Another ace from meta4, nicely done. The mark of a true champion is the ability to win AND to lose with class and composure.

Thanks Blackjack21 - Very true, no matter the pressure. Perhaps this has been a great "teaching moment" for Miss Williams. I hope so.

Yeah! Thanks for the anonymous 1-1-1 bombs. I haven't gotten any in a good while. Now I know I've gotten under someone's skin. I wear them like a badge of honor! :-D
