The Lyrics

Aol says they got somethin' for me
One thousand hours free on this here disc
I been tryin' until I feel like I'm a' dyin'
This Packard Bell, I know it ain't too brisk..

These Boots Were Made To Log On
But, that's what they won't do
One of these days, I hope these boots
Will let me log on, too

Keyed in the code that I found on the label
It so frustratin' that it makes me sweat..
Tried everything, includin' bangin' the table
It's late at night, ain't heard that "Welcome" yet

These Boots Were Made To Log On
And that's what they won't do
One of these days, I hope these boots
Will let me log on, too

I been doin' what is says to be doin'
Keep flippin' that CD in and out of the tray
(Ha) I just found me another disc, an old NetZero
I shoved it in, it booted right away..

These Boots Were Made To Log On
So, that's what they should do
One of these days, Bill Gates, I'm gonna'
Roll a log on you!

Are you ready, Boots?
Let's log on!

OH, yeah...I tried one of those...hated it...AND - forgot to cancel after it ran out so I got billed for a month at the full rate ($24 or $25)...I hit the roof...called to cancel, which they DON'T make easy to do...ended up with a guy who talked me into a "FREE" month of Netscape, and promised that when the month was up it would automatically be cancelled unless I contacted them and indicated I wanted to continue it...Well, I had trouble loading it...failed 3 or 4 times and I decided that I did not want to bother with "Tech Support" since I really didn't want it in the first place...guess what? Yup...I got billed for it the next month...had AMEX reverse the billed the NEXT I called AOL to took a while to get the agent to check and see that I had never actually used that point she agreed to reverse all charges...and THEN...get ready now(and I realize I have told this story on the site once before...consider it a "Summer Rerun if you have already heard this one)...she asked me "Is there some future point where we can have a representative call you about resuming service with us?" OH...and my mind went into gear -- "Well, know when Hell freezes over? Well, not right then, because I imagine you people will be pretty busy right about then, picking up cold-weather gear and such...but right AFTER that...yeah, you can have someone call me about that RIGHT AFTER Hell freezes over." Stunned silence on the other end for a bit...then..."Uhh...OK...thank you..." Boy, I loved saying that to her...OH, yeah...your parody - very good & very, very true...5's ~ ~ ~
