The Lyrics

A friend of mine moved into a new house off of Route 36 in the middle of the Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Little did I know that when I was going for a visit, I'd be on that road forever. One minute you think you're going north and then you find you're going south, or west, etc, etc. Once you get on this road, there is no telling when you'll find your way. It just took me a few hours, but I drive an awful lot. Amateurs, avoid this road!
ROUTE 36

Well if you ever plan to confuse yourself,
Jersey shore way makes you lose your mental health,
Lose your kicks on Route 36.

Well it winds round in circles in a bend,
God only knows where it dumps you in the end,
Lose your kicks on Route 36.

From Atlantic Highlands to another dimension,
Bermuda triangle's nothing compared to this,
Satan's highway, all directions switch,
Keyport, Highlands, don't forget the islands,
That make up that Sandy Hook area.

Yeah you'll be lost on this road for weeks,
For your trip, find another road to seek,
Lose your kicks on Route 36.

Great job - yes, very easy to get lost on some roads. You should try one about Boston's downtown next, and that crazy circle and...well, you'll find out :-(

"N/A" is the performer? I don't think so. I think it's Jonny Cash or one of those people. If you don't know who originally did a song, DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!

The version I know is the Stones but I know it wasn't originally theirs.
