The Lyrics

Ah, pi. Staple for all types of geekomedy. Wrote this for ARML, but it never came to fruition...saddening.
Come hear a little ditty sung about pi,
Come hear a little ditty sung about pi,

3.141592653589,
If I round it properly, I’ll mutilate the whole rhyme,
If you go by radians, its measure is a straight line,
3.141592653589

One itty bitty ditty sung about pi,
One itty bitty ditty sung about pi,

I found a circle’s area when I was just a lad,
Tried squaring the diameter, was off by just a tad,
My teacher came and said to me that I’d left something out
Its symbol’s this odd table thing, its value is about…

3.141592653589,
Pi is pretty neat, and I’m not talking about key lime,
Got an awful lot of digits, i squared is its cosine,
3.141592653589

One itty bitty ditty sung about pi,
One itty bitty ditty sung about pi,

And if you multiply by e, it’s spelled the proper way,
If calculated out, it’s just a little over eight,
But though a tasty pastry is to many a delight,
The number is a godsend even to the neophyte!

It’s…
3.141592653589,
Try to say it properly and you’ll just waste a lifetime,
Somehow it’s contrived to be a function that just counts primes…
3.141592653589
Yea, π(x) is actually a legitimate function, the so-called prime-counting function, giving the number of prime numbers less than x. There's your fact of they day ;)

Clever, funny, but, I think, incomplete. 5s all the same.

Well, being a Maths Bimbo I would never be able to memorise it in order to sing it to my friends... but I applaud your brilliance and award it 5's... you scary numbers genius, you!

I had a little trouble trying to sing it, but it's great! Math wasn't my absolute best subject, but I did well overall. I'm voting 5-5-5 on this.

i agree wholeheartedly with John Barry. ("You know you could memorize it to 20 places such as xxxxxxxx, but that's going a bit too far don't you think?" "Indubitably!")

Great minds must think alike: At Double E's parody, "Mathmatical Pi" (http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/donmclean0.shtml) there was a comment (cough) that took the form of a Pi parody to this OS, Supercal. Very flattering to see if fully executed. What John Barry said. Vote = 7.4736987292991014397822098012003 ^ π.

All those numeros can leave one pi eyed. Cheezy - You are a person after my own heart. I must have written 20 parodies on this site about Pi. Always room for one more (digit). Fine execution but I'm going to have to stop the division at 3.141 FIVE. else I'll never get around to voting. Fine write!

Some would say is scientifically impossible, but your parody is better than Spaff! (Of course, his paroides that he wrote for this tune are horrible, but I'm talking about in general!!!!) 556 cubed. I crown you Sir Cumfrunse of Amiright.

Glad you liked it, all. I was afraid some of the more obscure jokes would be lost on people, i.e. the arithmetic value of pie...but I see we have first-class geeks in the house. Thanks for the comments!
