The Lyrics

Somewhere in an underground bunker near Tikrit, one of Saddam's few remaining cronies entertains the Fearless Leader.
Once upon a crime we ruled a country
Where we used to raze a town or two
Remember how we tortured family members
And cooked their body parts in lentil stew.......?

Those were the days, Hussein
Of your notorious reign
We crushed both Kurds and Shiites every day
We hid our weapons well
We gave inspectors hell
Those were the days,
Saddam, those were the days!

Lie lie lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie lie lie

Yes, that Oil For Food was quite a program
Money flowed like camel piss on dust
Palaces and cars we bought and squandered
I guess that's what they mean by "boom and bust"......?

Those were the days, Hussein
Of your fantastic reign
We crushed both Kurds and Shiites every day
We had no time to snooze
Like Hitler killing Jews
Those were the days,
Saddam, those were the days!

Die die die die die die
Die die die die die die
Die die die die
Die die die die die die

Bush sent over troops by tens of thousands
While the French and Germans played it cool
We just watched as Rumsfeld dissed the U.N.
Damn, those guys are idiots--ain't it cool......?

Those were the days, Hussein
Of your Iraqi reign
We crushed both Kurds and Shiites every day
We Sunnis were so swell
We washed our dogs with Prell
Those were the days,
Saddam, those were the days!

Lie lie lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie lie lie

Coalition tanks went rushing by us
We lost a few short battles in the sand
Then we disappeared into the desert
Things didn't turn out quite the way we planned.....

Those were the days, Hussein
Of your notorious reign
We crushed both Kurds and Shiites every day
We hid our weapons well
We gave inspectors hell
Those were the days,
Saddam, those were the days!

Lie lie lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie lie lie

Young Uday and Qusay were surrounded
The tanks blew U and Q to smithereens
Chemical Ali's been lately captured
Maybe he could mail us some sardines......?

Those were the days, Hussein
Of your notorious reign
We crushed both Kurds and Shiites every day
We hid our weapons well
We gave inspectors hell
Those were the days,
Saddam, those were the days!

Lie lie lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie
Lie lie lie lie lie lie

Still the war's begun for us, not over
Time to call our friends in Pakistan
Taliban and Qaeda on the rise now
And we say "You Da MAN!" "No, YOU Da Man!"

Those were the days, Hussein
Of your all-powerful reign
We crushed both Kurds and Shiites every day
We lived the life we'd choose
We wore Italian shoes
Those were the days,
Saddam, those were the days!.........

Now on rare occasions I hear laughter
It's your "ha-ha-haaa" and "hee-hee-hee"
I rush in to see you with the Devil
And there's that "South Park" movie on TV.....!

Those were the days, Saddam
When we all praised Saddam
Your picture hung in every toilet stall
Into Kuwait we pushed
We nearly killed George Bush
Those were the days, Saddam
Those were the days!

Those were the days, Hussein
Of your notorious reign
We crushed both Kurds and Shiites every day
We hid our weapons well
We gave inspectors hell
Those were the days,
Saddam, those were the days!

Songs about Saddam are totally inappropriate, so I can give this no better than 5's.

Came here via the 'Random' feature, Bob. Missed this at the time, this a a great job and the subject matter suits the slight melancholy of the song really well. Come back Bob, AIR needs more parodies of this calibre:)
