The Lyrics

Ah, yes, 1979, The Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers in a doubleheader and when game 1 was over, A local Chicago DJ and owner Bill Veeck came up with this idea...
Listen, baby
One Chicago Night
Up on the North side
There was something wrong in Comiskey

In the doubleheader, by the end of Game 1,
There was something gone wrong,
One Chicago DJ, and Bill Veeck came with something
for the cost of nothing

That event was Disco Demolition NIght, Disco Demolition Night
Disco Demoltion Night, an event we're never forgetting

We took the records, put them on the mound
And blew them records all over the town, darling
From that night on, We were out of luck
We did chanted the phrase "Disco Sucks!"

'Cause tonight was just DIsco Demolition NIght, Disco Demolition Night, Disco Demolition Night, an event we're never forgetting

No wind, no rain

The fans run amok
Way down on the field
Then we staged a riot when we had to leave
The umps came to give a hand
They put the 2nd on forfeit, as fast as they can

That event was just Disco Demolition Night, Disco Demoltion NIght
Disco Demolition Night, an event we're never forgetting

(going into Diana Ross)
Disco Demolition Night, Disco Demolition Night, Disco Demolition Night, they're burning some records
Disco Demolition Night, Disco Demolition Night, Disco Demolition Night, we're staging a riot

Arcade, like the story, remember the event from the news, actually. Thought I remembered how the song went. But I don't, I'll have to vote on this later after I refresh my memory banks a bit.

I heard Travolta cried...on the night that all that Disco died. Yes, I remember the Disco Demolition - what a great day in the history of popular music. But don't ya miss those stylish Disco fashions? MMMMM...Polyester!!!
