The Lyrics

I used to love Scooby-Doo when I was younger, but I always wondered why the rest of the mystery team never believed Shaggy or Scooby when they would say that they saw real eyes following them from behind a painting. I mean it happened like every episode! You'd think they'd catch on... but I guess they never did and Shaggy is fed up with it!
Verse 1: Ooo, this house really gives me the spooks
Glad this case is almost through
Then me and my dog, that you adore
Are sent off alone to search a darkened corridor
We stop just to ad-mire, a display
Saw its eyes blink, clear as day

Chorus: So I said “Scoob, I swear that painting has eyes!”
Not much faster can a man fly
Oh, I swear that painting has eyes!
Oh, I’m just about to wet my thighs
Let’s get outta here!
(I swear that painting has eyes
How much longer will you guy dismiss me?
Zoinks…..)

Verse 2: I know that ghosts are not all that real
But these fears, I can’t make them deal
Finding clues, could end my life you see
Don’t you see, eyes follow me
I’ll have to show you myself
Those orbs are someone else

Chorus: They’re gone! I swear that painting had eyes!
How much louder must my voice rise?
Oh, I swear that painting had eyes!
Now I’m just about to lose my mind!
Fred, Daph, Velma wait!
(I swear that painting had eyes
How many times can this happen to me?
No…)

Verse 3: The team says when you’re scared can’t trust what’s seen
And also none of what you hear
I can’t deny I’m viewed by ghouls
If it’s true, can’t make it clear
But my claims, are just ignored
Even though was done ten times before!

Chorus: You must know! I swear that painting has eyes!
Not much clearer can I advise
Velma, I swear that painting has eyes!
Ooo, I wonderin’ how we never die
Ghost just kill us please…
(I swear that painting has eyes!
Now no longer will I solve those myst’ries
No, no, no, no, no)
Scooby, I know!
That they’re dumber than most
(I swear that painting has eyes!
Now no longer will I solve those myst’ries
No, no, no, no, no)
Said I swear that painting has eyes!

I watched a lot of this as a kid too. I think Shaggy is the best actor and maybe the youngest of the group.

LOL! Shaggy was always my favorite Scooby Doo character and you're right Blaydeman the rest of the gang did seem rather dimwitted to never believe them despite it happening numerous times before! 5's

I glad you worked in Shaggy's catchphrase in there "Zoinks!" the only thing I gotta say is that I wish you worked in other Scooby Doo cliches like running through all those doors as you're being chased by the monster, or the words "meddling kids" somewhere in there as well but still this was a good parody.

I agree with Matthias, some Scooby snacks would have been worth mnetioning...or even making reference to the oft-rumored "recreational drug usage" good 'ol Shag must have been into. Pacing crept up behind you and went BOO! during some of this, too.

Yeah, I know I missed a lot of great Scooby-Doo references, but it was actually really hard to fit that stuff in here. The song structure made it surprisingly difficult. I regret not having those references in it. but it wasn't from a lack of trying. :'(

(Artistry) Well, that's what happens when you're in a pre-90's cartoon, Shaggy, continuity to past episodes is a rarity. Anyway, this was pretty good for a kinda minimal topic to work with. 555 Scooby snacks!

Zoinks! You said it Blayde.

Of the few Marvin Gaye songs that I do know, this one is my favorite (and was actually going to be the song I spoofed for this round, but I changed my mind). I've never been huge on Scooby Doo, but this was fun to read and a great title switch too. 555 pairs of shifty eyes

More good cartoon-y-ness. I appreciate the zoinks and shenanigans here, and thought it worked very well in the song. Nice one Blayde. YAY, CHASE MONTAGE! I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN AWAY WITH IT TOO, IF IT WEREN'T FOR...

See above: Scooby Doo was never my favorite cartoon, but Shaggy was always one of my favorites. Great job spoofing a great OS.
