To dream the impossible dream
To fight though my district be torn
To try one last ploy to get noticed
To get campaign finance reform

I'll say I'll run only four times
And print my term promise on paper
But then run again for term fi-ive
Reform - for you but not me

This is my quest, to get that bill passed
I really don't want it,
I'm now a lame duck
I'll fight for this bill
So you think I want it
To take money from you and them him
'Cause I sure get none

And I know if I'll only be true
(we all laughed at that too)
That my chest will lie peaceful and full
When I'm off on run two

And my rep would be better for this
That one man dissed and redistricted out
Still strove through clenched teeth and crossed fingers
Though I know the bill will not pass
