Parody Song Title:

"Been Sold Out By The Fed"

Parody Written by:

A.E. Jones

The Lyrics

well i think we’ve been sold out by the fed
getting the money supply inflated
gold (standard) is through. gold accrue

they want fake currency, they treat us so badly
they can print up money, a whole slew

so i think we’ve been sold out by the fed
janet yellen is the woman to dread
qe2, qe2

she’s scheming, and mourning
will we be and quickly
when shit hits the fan, we
will look like deutschland in ’26

been sold out by the fed, what a crew!
out by the fed, qe2
out by the fed’s paper blight
blight of paper, way wrong, not right

the reserve’s gonna play its printing part
there’s no reason why gal after guy does the scheming art

nonetheless we’ve been sold out by the fed
fed’ral reserve ain’t what the founders bred

been sold out by the fed, what a crew!
sellin’ us fed snake oil too
down at the fed, paper blight
blight of paper, wrong way not right
how to fight?
metal yellow, white
fed’ral ways, fed’ral daze

Most of the non-money is blipped into existence by computer entries. No need to turn valuable paper and ink into multi-zero notes. German inflation was 1923 at its worst. I've handled a lot of currency and stamps from that era. You can see the inflation building in 1922, by 1923 the notes are in the billions of Marks. Even stamps with new denominations overprinted. Bills printed on one side only to save ink. Hitler would later round up those one-sided Marks and print anti-Semitic poems on the reverse, blaming the Jews for the economic crash. I fear Americans will look for a leader to get us out of our current nightmare. In fact, it is the desire to be led which is at the root of most of the world's problems. I rate your parody highly, but the numbers above are not mine. I try to let new writers know that I don't use the number voting system.

This is an amazing trivia note about the 1923 hyperinflation. Towards the end of this whole episode, 100,000 DM notes were being used as the prizes inside a box of Cracker Jacks

Which, of course, spurred the following jingle -- Candy coated popcorn, peanuts and a German family's life savings; that's what you get in Cracker Jacks
