Song Parodies -> "Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism"

Original Song Title:

"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"

Parody Song Title:

"Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism"

Parody Written by:

Guy DiRito

The Lyrics

Antidisestablishmentarianism is often quoted as one of the longest English words that has an actual meaning (as opposed to words that were made up for the purpose of being long — see Longest word in the English language), although there is a longer word that falls in the same category: "Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism", meaning false opposition to the separation of the state and the church.
Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle ay,
Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle ay,
Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism.
Constitution founded it,
The 'pseudo' part means schism.
'Anti' is the part of it,
That means it's opposition.
Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism.

Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle ay,
Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle ay,
'Establishment' in hippy speak,
Was something made them mad.
And when it is repect they seek,
To 'dis' someone is bad.
And 'ment' is just a suffix word,
Results of action shows.
The longest word that has occured,
In English language prose.

Oh, Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism,
Constitution founded it,
The 'pseudo' part means schism.
'Anti' is the part of it,
That means it's opposition.
Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism.

Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle ay,
Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle ay,
And 'arian's not German tongue,
Usage means to convey.
A belief that's incurred,
From person to a certain way.
But when it is used prayerfully,
Can cut sharp as a knife.
It seperated church from state,
And caused a lot of strife.

It's Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism,
Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism,
Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism,
Pseudoantidisestablishmentarianism!

This is really great but I have some bad news for you. The longest non-chemical compound word in the English language is actually: "pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis" (a lung disease). Let's see ya make a parody outta THAT one - lol!!! Actually, I may give it a try now - lol! Seriously, this was inspired! Loved it!
Stray Pooch - January 31, 2004 - Report this comment
Yep. It's written and posted. I hope the title field can handle it - lol!!! Thanks for the inspiration, Guy!

Excellent parody, Guy. But what dictionary do you use? This word is not in my 2,000 page Webster's Unabridged version or the online Merriam Webster version.

Great work Guy; liked the little "arian" bit. Hey, did Stray Pooch say he was thinking about writing a parody to that long word of his then come back HALF AN HOUR LATER and say it was submitted? I'm gonna hafta check that out.
Guy - January 31, 2004 - Report this comment
Yes he did Claude. I'm looking forward to it tomorrow myself. Stray's been on a bit of a roll lately.

Thanks to all who voted and commented on this one. Stray has promised another with a longer word tomorrow. Make sure you check it out. I know I am going to.

Thanks for your response, Guy. I'm sure you know that I wasn't questioning the word - I just wanted to broaden my horizons.

LOL! Did I really do that in half an hour? Well, you can imagine how THAT one will sound - lol! Actually, it wasn't all that hard. After all, once you put the word in half the song is already written!!! Thanks for the plug, Guy and Claude. I hope it lives up to the hype - lol.

John - I know, I stumbled on it by accident. I was thinking of doing this to 'antidisestablishmentarianism' but it was short two syllables. The 'psuedo' version popped up in a dictionary search and then like wham I got it.
