Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Super Gals In Sequined Gowns Were Wearing Red Galo"

Parody Written by:

Tim Mayfield

The Lyrics

What didja, didja, didja, what didja say?
What didja, didja, didja, what didja say?

Super gals in sequined gowns
Were wearing red galoshes
Did not like the look of things
But now I'm feeling nauseous
I tried just ignoring them
But they were so obnoxious
Super gals in sequined gowns
Were wearing red galoshes

What didja, didja, didja, what didja say?
What didja, didja, didja, what didja say?

Their deltoids, pectorals, obliques
Buttocks, hamstrings and abs
Too busy showing their physiques
With matching shoulder pads
To them it seems I'm just a nerd
I never could propose
But anyway that's just absurd
Cause all they do is pose

Those super gals in sequined gowns
Were wearing red galoshes
They were signing autographs
And selling kiddies' watches
You'd like to scream, "They're models!"
But you should be more cautious
Super gals in sequined gowns
Were wearing red galoshes

What didja, didja, didja, what didja say?
What didja, didja, didja, what didja say?

Well now their photo session's done
They'll fight another day
One of them breaks a nail
You know some one has got to pay
Don't matter if they've got a gun
Or if they've got a knife
They'd better put their weapon down
Start running for their life!

They're super gals in sequined gowns
Who're wearing red galoshes
Super gals in sequined gowns
Were wearing red galoshes
Super gals in sequined gowns
Were wearing red galoshes
Super gals in sequined gowns
Were wearing red galoshes

Damned good. I kept envisioning that woman from My Big Fat Greek Wedding in her new film where she dresses up like a man in drag. ...anyway...

If a model wears it, we can't afford it.

(SOTM) If it hadn't been for AmIright I probably would have never heard this OS. Now I f-ing love it so I'll just say:
Super ads with catwalk fads and prices gone atrocious: £555!

Well-written parodies of this original are great fun. (And don't let Phil Alexander try to tell you otherwise.) This is splendid, goofy stuff. And if the celebs pick up this particular fashion trend from the models, pretty soon you'll be seeing it strutted out in malls and clubs everywhere. I can't wait.

This is delightful. Some great rhymes too. Very good.

(SOTM) Very good job of an OS that I really don't like to listen to very much for some reason...but I still prefer John Jenkins take on it - something about "Super Tacos with ? ? Give Me Halitosis"...can't remember the exact whole title now...but this is very, very good. 5's...

This song (like the other few dozen parodies to this tune) is lots of fun, and FYI, spaff, I have nothing against anybody doing one or two - as I've said before, it's a bit like the shooting your parody fish in a barrel. Incidentally, Paul, I think you'll find it's "green salsa"... that's one of my favourite takes on this song, too.

Silly little parody will get you lots of notice. It's really weird how the Supercalifragilisticwhatever parodies are so popular, but I loved the title enough to give you three fives!

(SOTM) One of my favorite OS's to parody, and you did a great job with it here.

SOTM--pretty funny stuff, here, Tim...but as a fashionista, I have to frown upon your subject matter...; ) Hee!

As the others have said, excellently goofy stuff. I've been kinda jaded from how many parodies of this I've seen over the years, but you did some excellent ties with the original, and a great rhyme scheme to boot, or galosh, I guess.

(SOTM) Well done Tim!
