Another one from the vault. This comments on the 1997 mini-scandal centered on a recording of Newt Gingrich apparently breaking the rules in a cell-phone conference with colleagues. Only ones to really suffer were the folks who taped it--they eventually had to pay a fine....

Help me reach McDermott on the ethics co-mitty,
I do not know the number, but I know he’ll take the call,
‘Cause my scanner got the Gingrich and my wife she taped it all.
Help me information, David Bonner wasn’t free,
His staff said call McDermott on the ethics co-mitty,
His office is that nice one, high up on the hill,
Just a mile and a half from Hillary and Bill.
As I now recall it, it was all an accident,
Somehow we got every word that Newt received and sent,
I did not know our scanner worked on cell phone frequencies,
But luckily we had a tape when Newt called from DC.

‘Cept that I was thinking we should get immuney-tay,
We’d gladly do it all again if we can beat the rap,
