The Lyrics

By sheer coincidence, "Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire" and the Johnny Cash bio-pic "Walk The Line" were released to theaters on the same day, 11/18/05.
Now, at the Hogwart's fling
They've announced the Tri-Wizard thing
Named from the school entire
I've been called, from Goblet of Fire

My name's picked from the Goblet of Fire
Now I frown, frown, frown
I'm in danger so dire
Now my stomach churns
Goblet of Fire
Goblet of Fire

So what is this? Supposed to be three
DeLaCouer, Krum and Diggory
One more name
Came from the rotter
It called to me--
Old Harry Potter!

I've been called by the Goblet of Fire
It's not the best trait
That one could desire
That's why I frown
I wish I could retire

I want to melt down
Goblet of Fire!
Goblet of Fire!

I relly liked this, Agri, although the pacing seemed a bit clunky to me. Can't wait to see the movie! 455

Great parody, and I must second Kristof. Goblet of Fire looks excellent.

Okay, I am going to have a HP movie marathon next Tuesday (99c rentals and I'm off) so I can understand these parodies.

SOTM - By another sheer coincidence, this is currently the 15:th parody of this song and it gets 15 votes in total from me.

Its funny, but in a "you have to like harry potter" kind of way. Took me a minute.

[SOTM] Great stuff, but the pacing lets it down 455

(SOTM) yes, nice work, Agri - it paced fine for me, although I'm still handicapped by my ignorance of all things Harry - but it flowed nicely - 555

The parody is very well arranged with an appropriate last verse. And, in addition to being a very good parody, the timing of its submission was perfect.

(SOTM) That movie marathon mentioned above happened, but I've yet to see GoF. Great rhyming and a good HP parody.

Johnny Potter! Oh, a great job in the Harry Potter contest!

What Stuart said. I like the title sub too.

(SOTM) Nice job. Amazingly, I only know the OS through THUG2, but it was well done. Brilliant pacing, excellent idea.

(SOTM) Very funny. 5's

Fun stuff. I keep wanting to call it the "gobbet of fire", instead.. maybe that's for the next parody, though :-)

(ABC) Well-timed and fairly well paced, but didn't seem particularly impressive as for as SOTM's go. The phrasing seemed a bit awkward at times which i think shouldn't happen especially in such a short song. Also no lines really stood out to me, and "old harry potter" didn't sound right "young harry potter" would make more sense since he's younger than the other three. Nothing to be ashamed of, but as I said before it didn't really impress me. 2 done, 18 to go

SOTM - Well this is different. A Harry Potter parody? ;-) Well done, and all that rot. I like this one.

(SOTM) I couldn't make Goblet of Fire pace unless I pronounced it Gob-ah-let.....fine effort anyways. 455

(SOTM) Hmm...I just heard the OS the other day and this matches pretty well, but does seem just a teensy bit clunky in places. Overall not bad though.

Hey, gotta strike while the goblet's hot. Pacing was a stretch, but this one's fun anyways. Now I just need to help Ethan understand that because of the unfreezing process he has not inner monologue.

(SOTM) Not bad, Maynard Dumbledore. ;-)

Nice job. I could see Johnny Cash singing this in a robe and glasses. Okay, not really. But good stuff.

I found this using the random button. A good synopsis of the outrage that was the 4th name drawn, Agri. Personally I would have sent Harry for detention for claiming he didn't do it (even though he didn't, heh heh).

I have written a Johny Cash parody. His beat and lyric style and totaly original words. Who would publish that? Thanks
