Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"To Cover John"

Parody Written by:

Jonathan Spurlock

The Lyrics

I don't know how many have tried to sing like or mimic Johnny Cash. His was one of the most unique voices in any genre or type of music, This song, then, is a parody of those who try to copy Johnny's voice. As said of others, his voice was sometimes imitated, but never duplicated!
Songs--they're meant to be sung,
Use--both your lips and tongue;
Find--a key you can match,
Sound--just like it's a natch!

Cho.: My best songs were sung by Johnny Cash,
And I learned to sing them in a flash!
That's what I do best--
To cover John, to cover John

Words--are quite simple, true:
Known--by both me and you;
Chords--not a one will clash,
And--write 'em in a dash!

(repeat chorus twice and fade out, ad libbing)
