The Lyrics

I never understood this song when it was, uh, still popular. Could have been my age, though - first grade? Still don't understand it... Or, perhaps I do. But, this:
When your food is compacted flies
And all you think, composted lies.

Don't you need somebody to Snub?
Don't you want somebody to Club?
Don't you want a fetish to rub?
You'd better find somebody to Club!

Social games are the Golden rule,
And those who can't play are nam'ed fools.

Don't you need somebody to Snub?
Don't you want somebody to Club?
Don't you want a fetish to rub?
You'd better find somebody to Club!

Your brain is empty and your mind is dust,
And all you think and feel is pure gilded rust.

Don't you need somebody to Snub?
Don't you want somebody to Club?
Don't you want a fetish to rub?
You'd better find somebody to Club!

Hatred flares! It seeks to find,
And KILL those *things* of different mind.

(subtle change in the music, to indicate the change happening in the singer, and by
extension, those listening to the song)

Don't you need some Thing to Snub?
Don't you want some Thing to Club?
Don't you want a fetish to rub?
You'd better find some Thing to Club!
Note: the word 'fetish', as used here, is both used in the sense of 'a magical artifact' and 'a means of manipulating the perceptions of others' - as in 'magical thinking' says 'if I posess a certain Fetish, then I shall partake of the Power contained *within* that Fetish'. (Which is how a Lot of Advertising actually works.) The other portion is the principle behind which much time and money is spent buying those socially mandated items that so many think they NEED. They ARE right, by the way - you do NEED all of those trinkets so as to manipulate others into believing one of the following: 1) you are worshiping them by becoming as they are in all possible ways, or 2) you are a superior being, and hence the worship of those you prove to be less than human is demanded of them. And those who cannot buy into such madness are defined as evil - and by definition, they are both cursed and hated. Great rewards await those who destroy them!
