The Lyrics

This is the European version of the original. Several mondegreens inspired me on writhing this song.
It's the little old lady from West Pakila [1]!

The little old lady from West Pakila
(go, granny, go, granny, go, granny, go!)
has a pretty little flower bed and white Cortina [2]
(go, granny, go, granny, go, granny go!)
But back she has rigged in home garage
a brand new shining red supercharged Saab! [3]

And everyone says there's nobody meaner
than the little old lady from West Pakila!
She drives mean past and she drives mean smart!
She'r terror of Eira and the Bulevard'! [4]

It's the little old lady from West Pakila!

If you see her on the street don't try to shoot her [5]
You might ride before but you'll never amuse her
Well, she's gonna make an attack now sooner or later
'cause she can't keep her foot of accelerator!

And everyone says there's nobody meaner
than the little old lady from West Pakila!
She drives mean past and she drives mean smart!
She'r terror of Eira and the Bulevard'!

It's the little old lady from West Pakila!

~Instrumental~
Go granny, go granny, go granny go!
~Instrumental~
Go granny, go granny, go granny go!
The cops come to chase her for smiles around [6]
But she'll give 'em a rev, then she'll loose 'em out!

And everybody's saying that there's nobody meaner
Than the little old lady from West Paila
She drives mean past and she drives mean smart
She's a terror of Eira and the Bulevard'!

It's the little old lady from West Pakila!

Go granny, go granny, go granny go
Go granny, go granny, go granny go
Go granny, go granny, go granny go
Go granny, go granny, go granny go
[1] West Pakila is known in Helsinki colloquial as "Mummolaakso" (Granny Valley) because of its great proportion of retirees and pensioneers.
[2] Ford Cortina was a popular family car in Finland from 1960s to 90s. A mondegreen - I originally did hear the granny had a white Cortina in the song.
[3] Several mondegreens. Saab suits better the EU environment than Dodge.
[4] Eira and Bulevardi are upper class districts in Helsinki Downtown.
[5] A mondegreen, but road rage is all too common in Finland.
[6] Again a mondegreeen, but a likely end for an illicit stock car race in Helsinki Downtown

Does Saab even sell cars in red? Could be worse. Much worse: Yesterday's NY Times had an article on eastern Germans (can't call 'em "East Germans" anymore) celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Trabant. The Trabi! I don't think there'll be a big celebration for the 50th Anniversary of the AMC Gremlin or the Ford Pinto. At least, I hope not!
