| Parody Song Title: | "Aleut" |
| Parody Written by: | Steve Kalafut |
For my 50th parody, a bit of georgraphy. I'm not sure if there are any polar bear-uhs in the Aleuts, but I know they're somewhere up there-uh in Alaska. The name of the state is derived from a term which means "big land" in the Aleut native's language.
(Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
(Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
There's a long chain of islands near the Bering sea
(Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
They're in the Pacific north of Hawai-ee
(Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
When we purchased Alaska we got them, too
(Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
Well the island chain is the Aleut (Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
The natives are related to the Eskimo
(Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
They gave Alaska its name, well don't you know
(Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
You can find a lot of wildlife hanging 'round up there-uh
(Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
Like big sea lions and polar bear-uhs
(Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
(Aleut) He's the biggest bear there is alive
(Aleut) But he can't chew a walrus hide
(Aleut) So he pulls seals through holes in ice
Look at that bruin go (scream)
The westernmost island is called Attu (Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
The Japanese were there in world war two (Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
Was a hard-fought war against the Japanese (Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
Cuz they had torpedo planes and kamikazes (Aleut oot, oot, oo-oot)
(Aleut) It's the westernmost place to stay
(Aleut) And still be in the USA
(Aleut) You can still see the wildlife play
Look at that walrus go (scream)
[spoken]
There he goes, look at that walrus go
He sure is big ain't he?
Like, what's he eating?
He's got tusks
Swim, big boy, swim
Hi-yo polar bear
Swim, big boy, swim
See ya, bear
Like--splitsville.

I just returned from Alaska, so this struck a chord.
Very original theme, and funny too.
