Parody Song Title:

"It's About That 'War' President"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

The Iraq War; I put it on my stove top, boiled it down and here is what I came up with.
Too much War and Death and Hate, my friends
War and Death and Hate, it never ends
This has happened several times before
We've been conned into a needless war
With folks who were not our enemy (enemy)
We weren't attacked by people from Iraq (not Iraq)
We 're at war with folks who weren't enemies
Time to give George Bush the sack

It's perverse, now we're immersed

This President is sick, my friends
Now we are at war, when will it end?
He told lies to get us in this war
Ain't it time that we showed him the door?
He's dragged us into a tragedy (tragedy)
Brought anarchy and chaos to Iraq (to Iraq)
Yes, the whole damned thing is a travesty
Time to give George Bush the sack

(guitar solo)

This whole charade is sick, my friends
In a senseless war that will not end
George Bush got us in this senseless war
Think it's time that we showed him the door
He never had any strategy (clueless; he)
Insurgents kill folks daily in Iraq (that's a fact)
Our involvement there is a tragedy
Tell Bush that it's time to pack

CAN-YOU-TELL-US-WHY?
Tragedy (Travesty) Travesty (Tragedy)
Endless, senseless war now in Iraq
Tell Bush that it's time to pack

I'll be heading down towards San Jose shortly. I'll respond to comments before I leave but after that I probably won't be able to check in until tomorrow sometime (Friday). Thanks.

A lively and spirited political parody, well-written!

The clever rhyming and word play are worthy of 5s, but the logic of the parody seems to ignore UN Resolution 1441, which called for serious consequences if Iraq did not account for its weapons of mass destruction. Iraq did not comply, and the coalition enforced the resolution.

Now, THAT was fun. I hardly stumbled at all. Thanks, Paul.

alvin/Michael P/JB/JD/JJ & Reg - thanks for looking in. And don't forgot to vote on Tuesday. Early and often if you are a Democrat. JJ -I think this piece is more logical than anything the current occupant of the White House has drooled forth lately. AND, "serious consequences" notwithstanding, there still no excuse for all the lies and lack of planning on Mr. Bush's part. I've got to leave this Internet station here at Kinko's and head to the Espresso Gardens for tonight's "Open Mic" session. Thanks again everyone. Later...

Got to perform this one this evening (Thurs., Oct. 28th) at the Espresso Gardens in San Jose with Rick D backing me on guitar. Had a great time. Got lotsa laughs. Thanks again, Rick!
