The Lyrics

I'd like to write lyrics for theme songs for TV shows. If I could have been the author of the theme song for USA Network's The Dead Zone, I may have written this for them.
Dead Zone, watch the Dead Zone,
Where the future's not a mystery.
In the town of Bangor,
Is a comatose vis-ion-ar-y.

Walt fears that someday his wife will cheat,
Now that Johnny Smith's back on his feet.

Then there's Greggy Still-son,
He's a scab-a that should do time,
That scab should do time,
You'd have to say he's slime.

Dead Zone, it's a head zone,
The world's headin' for catastrophy,
All those folks in Bangor,
In the future will be history.

Then there's complicated Dana Bright,
She can't deal with Johnny and his plight.

Watch out for the Dead Zone,
They may grab you out of your time,
Grabbed out of your time,
To see the world decline.

(Screamed)
Willya just stop the war!!!!!!!

Guy, even though I've never watched the "Dead Zone" and know nothing about it I'm going to trust your character representations here and give you 5's on this. You did a masterful job of matching up to the original rhymes. I especially liked "Then there's Greggy Still-son, He's a scab-a that should do time, That scab should do time, You'd have to say he's slime."

Great job, Guy even though I don't know the show. I agree with Paul on the rhyming of the line 'He's a scab-a that should do time'. :D

I am addicted to Law & Order SVU re-runs on USA...and those episodes are filled with Dead Zone commercials. I just can't grasp onto the fact that that guy is Anthony Michael Hall. What the hell happened to him??

Thanks everyone. I must confess that I have only seen one episode of this show. I got my info from the following web site. Here is the URL for the home page. http://www.usanetwork.com/series/thedeadzone/

I got all the other info from the character profiles on that site and that URL is as follows:

Paul, you'll find the characterizations in this song in line with the profiles from this site. I like to be accurate if nothing else. Thanks for your comment.

Pat - The scab-a verse was also my favorite. I could not believe how easily this fit to the original. Thanks.

Funny comment Alvin, thanks.

K1chyd - Of course you could. I see you've been taking this show a bit to seriously.

Arwen - I've been watching a lot of L&O and SVU myself on USA this summer. 'Fraid I don't know a lot about that actor.

Great parody, Guy, here, let me shake your hand.....(Johnny D grips Guy's hand and suddenly stares into space with a shocked Christopher-Walken-like expression)......You're gonna be writing a parody.....about "The Dead Zone".....people are gonna read it.....they're gonna like it.... a lot....you're gonna get a lot of fives....uh....ah....that's all. ;-)
