The Lyrics

I've always felt that it's important to maintain the original song's rhyme scheme, but not the actual rhymes. I thought I'd try my hand at using the actual rhymes from the OS.
Albertsons, oh Albertsons
Took a job but I was knowin'
After high school I'd be goin'
Now I'm twenty one
And still at Albertsons

Albertsons, oh Albertsons
My career is slowly crashing
Thought my life would be so smashing
But I load buns
On trays at Albertsons

I can hear the wisdom of my father
When he said that college was the key
But I replied it's not for me
All my classes and tests are done

Albertsons, oh Albertsons
I guess there is no denying
That it is useless to keep crying
That I should concentrate on trying to have fun
At Albertsons, at Albertsons

Rex, I agree with your first thought; some people try too hard to match the OS rhymes at the expense of quality elsewhere. Not here, though. Funny and technically a fine job. Hourly wage: $5.55

Thanks TT and alvin. As I reread my top comments, I probably should have said that FOR ME, rhyme scheme is more important. There are authors on AmIright who work hard to match OS rhyming, and I certainly appreciate their efforts. It's just not a focus for me.

I also agree it's sometimes too forced to try to match the OS rhymes, although I have much respect for anyone who can pull it off, and you certainly did that here. Good job describing a lousy job! I rate this aisle 555

Dead End Job syndrum is one of my favorite subjects for parody. . .nice work, and I HATE ALBERTSONS TOO!! Not as an employee but because they overcharge on groceries. . .

Albertsons overcharges for groceries here in Vegas, too.
