Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Tall and Dark and Green and Gruesome"

Parody Written by:

Don and Dan Fortier

The Lyrics

Did this with the help of a pianist friend when we were about 12.Song was popular then and the meter is fairly close to the original. ( A little funny, no?)
Tall and dark and green and gruesome
The monster from the graveyard goes walking
And when he passes, each one he passes goes..."YAAAAH!"

When he walks, it's just a shuffle
That bandages do much to muffle
So close he passes, in horror come gasps and ..."YAAAAH!"

(ooh) how I watch him so scared-ly
How can I tell him he's ug-ly?
Yes, I'd give my life savings gladly...
For each day, when he walks by the sea
He points a cold green finger...at me

Tall, (and) dark, (and) green, (and) gruesome
The monster from the graveyard goes walking
And when he passes, I cringe - hope he doesn't see
(he doesn't see *me*, he'll never see me...)

Thanks for your comments. The son of our father's friend was a few years older and had this sheet music on his piano. So to while away an hour (we were visiting Bridge City, LA), we three collaborated on this. Twin Dan & I used to do all the '60's TV commercials as well. Now he sings bawdy Karaoke songs in L.A.

I still do sing bawdy parodies of popular Karaoke songs (most unprintable here), including one to "Teddy Bear" [Elvis] that my wife gave to dueling pianists at night spot to perform. Unbelievable moment, hearing my rewording sung professionally.
