The Lyrics

This marks what I believe to be my 29th Edmund Fitzgerald song. After Michael Pacholek commented on my rendition of "My Way", I decided to go with his suggestion of "Strangers in the Night".
Freighter in the night, the Ed Fitzgerald
Something wasn't right, the ship imperiled
We'd meet Davy Jones before the night was through

Looked up in the sky, a bolt of lightning
Heard the Witch's cry, it was so frightening
Something in my gut, told me that we were thorough

Dangers in the night
A crew of sailors braving dangers in the night
Up to the moment when the rogue waves start to hit, hull begins to split
Safety lay in Whitefish Bay, 'twas only fifteen miles away

and

Ever since that night, investigating
Cause could not be found, a search frustrating
Nothing turned out right, for freighter in the night

(Instrumental Break)

Never anchored, Whitefish Bay, left not a trace by light of day

Ever since that night, the Fitz reposing
Balladeer at work, lyrics composing
A melodic blight, I'm here at amiright
Is this the end? I don't know.

Pacing flawed by lines 5&6, should end with "fright'ning" & "through" but 5s.

Where I come from, "frightening" is usually a two syllable word. You're right about "thorough", I missed that one.
