The Lyrics

Rat Pack August now addresses the most blistering heat experienced so far. No, it's not the summer weather. It's the catagory-five storm of vitriol aimed at all those who brought about the "Tea Party Downgrade". Let me get this straight. Those who opposed raising the debt ceiling are terrorists, hostage-takers, and other unprintable names? Certainly! Even the President is being criticized by his erstwhile base on the far left. The "New Civility" has always been intended only to work one way. ;D

Blame only the right
For the downgrading.
Angry words of fight
Are now cascading.
Strong self-righteous talk
From Geithner and O.'s team.

G-Seven had warned
"Reign in your spending".
This advice was scorned -
More debt unending.
S. and P. did balk.
It's like an awful dream.

Guess what's happened next?
O.'s folks are blaming like they
Had a pre-set text.
Right-wing defaming, their play:
Shout down all dissent! Hide the President!
Hang those dirty bags of Tea!
Each one's a no-good S.O.B.!

Argue with the louts.
Their plans are blarney!
"Let's have more bail-outs,"
Says our friend Barney.
'Though things really bite,
We only blame the right.

(Instrumental bridge with vocal returning for last two lines)

We know how to save the day -
Pump more funds into Fannie Mae!

Kerry, Axelrod,
And lots of others
Stomp the path well-trod:
Silence Tea mothers!
Stir up hate and fright
And only blame the right.

(Fading out, but still audible)

While it's getting hot, where is O. staying?
Lets his troops say what - he can't be saying!

;D

That damned thermometer of mine has been making the weather so hot, I think I'll throw it away.

Good analogy, Patrick; and I blame my doctor because my insurance agent raised the premium when he learned of my terminal diagnosis (hypothetically). 555 for OMR!
