"My Way"

Original Performer:

Frank Sinatra

Parody Song Title:

"Three-Way"

Parody Written by:

Phil Alexander

The Lyrics

Not to be confused with Claude's wonderful song of the same name, this one was written as a performance piece... assuming I can find an audience that isn't going to lynch me for performing it
And now, the end is near
I've still not pulled - Ain't that a pity
But hey, who've I found here?
Oh, darling you're so cute and pretty
So grab your coat and hat
Your place or mine? Let's hit the freeway
And hey, is that your friend?
We'll have a three way

Infections? I've a few, but then again
Too few to mention
My pox and NSU leave me with poor
Bladder retention
And I've never worked out
Exactly what to do for foreplay
So bring another friend
We'll have a four-way

But I've got some advice for you:
Don't bite off more than you can chew
That isn't quite what was implied
When I said "a bit on the side"
See all the guys
Tears in their eyes
Not for a three-way

And now, the end is near
I'm wond'ring if I might be dreaming
For you - still standing here
Not run away, or even screaming
Does that mean there's a chance
That you and me could ... (if you see Kay)
But more, one more than this
We'll have a three-way

What of a man who plays for sport?
Plays with himself, then he has naught.
For just one night, the thought appeals
With one who lies... with one who kneels.
What I propose... I'll take the blows -
Let's have a three-way

I'm sure Mr. Sinatra would have approved this version, as he probably lived through the words in his heayday. LOL A classic, Phil! Should be a 5 way!!!

now THAT'S a love song

Great stuff Phil -- I love seeing different takes on somewhat similar ideas. Can't believe I didn't think of "I'll take the blows"; that alone made this version necessary.

:-) Thanks all...

..and thanks for dropping in, Claude - I've had this in mind for a while, but hadn't got round to writing it out of respect for yours, I guess. Played this one last night at The Horns in Watford...

TerriFICK! Loved all the sly homages to the OS... you really nailed ol' Frank with this one!

Thanks, guys :-)
TJC - It wasn't Sinatra I was thinking of nailing..

I've always been a fan of this original song and Frank Sinatra in general... But this parody didn't really click for me in humor level, sorry Phil, not a favorite of mine.

(SOTM) What Matthias said, minus the 'fan of OS' bit. Sex-related parodies have never been my thing, and I don't know a lot of ol' Frank. So I 'm definitely out in the cold for this one.

Yeah, sorry, I can't stand those sex-related parodies either. I just can't condone that sort of unseemly material. It offends my delicate sensibilities, don't you know. Other than that, of course, this was great; especially liked the infections bit this time around.

(SOTM) Uh. . .Claude? LOL . . .It was well written--and I can't say anything against three-ways, what's kind of funny is we were in the car (my landlord and I) and this song was on, and it just seems to lean it's towards sex, the original lyrics--it was well written, I wish I could have gotten more into it than I did though.

Funny stuff, Phil. I'm a big fan of keeping the original lyrics once in a while, but changing their context. Loved it !!!

SOTM...nicely done, Phil...I thought I'd been here before, but no comment. Hmmm. Oh well...this made me smile...good work.

SOTM: I thought I'd been here too, maybe I was thinking of Claudes. Well done job. Don't bite off more than you can chew was hilarious.

You take those blows, Phil. Enjoyed it much and solid rhyme scheme.
