Parody Song Title:

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

My contribution to the "Edmund Fitzgerald" rewriting trend. Peter Green was an original member of Fleetwood Mac who left them in 1970. Condense "gerald" into one elided syllable, like "world". Same for "iron", as done in Gordon Lightfoot's song.
Shall I tell you about my ship?
Her name was the Edmund Fitzgerald
She sailed across the Great Lakes
'Til early came November's gales

She carried twenty-six thousand tons
Her cargo was iron ore
And to Cleveland she'd make this run
She didn't know what the lake had in store

[instrumental]

And the waves came a-crashin'
Too rough to feed you, like their cook should
Water caved in the hatchway
Men, to know you, it's been good

I could tell you about my ship
Superior is her grave
For twenty-nine times I've cried
That's one time each for the lives that they gave
And for the fam'lies left behind
