The Lyrics

Okay, another Fiddler parody. You might have to pronounce "Eliot" as two syllables, like "El-yot".
VARIOUS NEW YORK VOTERS:
“Eh! So Eliot Spitzer wasn’t exactly a paragon of virtue!”
“Oy vey!”
“Yeah, but after all, what did he do here?”

“A little bit of skank.
A little bit of tail!”
“Your job!” “Your rep!”
“Resign!” “Or jail!”

“Someone should have punched his lights out long ago.”

“Your friends?” “Your foes?”
“So, what’s your voters?” “Or your vows?”

“But he’s been in office for barely a year!”

“Your livelihood!” “Your wife and kids!”

ALL NEW YORK VOTERS:
What do we lose? No one much.
Only Eliot Spitzer…

Eliot Spitzer, Eliot Spitzer,
Underused, oversexed Eliot Spitzer.
Sheriff of Wall Street on the beat!

Eliot Spitzer, Eliot Spitzer,
Pure-as-gold, off-the-wall Eliot Spitzer,
Googling for prostitutes to meet!

Soon we’ll have a governor who’s black and blind:
Paterson, our first guv of his kind!
Not Eliot Spitzer…

Say goodbye to Eliot Spitzer,
Indiscreet, obsolete Eliot Spitzer,
Poor little gov’nor, little jerk of ours.

VOTER 1:
“Eh! He’s just a governor!”

VOTER 2:
“Our President was impeached over lies about sex several years ago.”

VOTER 3:
“Maybe that’s why we can’t impeach over lies about war.”

This is very clever . . . about the ~Sheriff of Wall Street~ He's a foxy uberGent, still drooling for sex during Lent ! ?

Congrats for doing the first Anatevka parody on AmIRight and for doing it well. But, unlike MasonR and John B, I wonder what the last line had to do with the rest of the parody. In response to it, though, of course a president can be impeached for lying about war. But, apparently everyone in a position to impeach understands that any WMD or other misrepresentations that might have been made were due to faulty information from the national and international intelligence communities, not because of intentional efforts to mislead.

John Jenkins: you have good points. Thanks for your comments. However, I don't believe, IMO, that there was no intention to believe. I believe GWB was looking for any excuse to attack Iraq. Still, it's just my opinion; I could be wrong.

Oops! I meant to say I don't believe there was no intention to deceive. Maybe mine was a Freudian slip. Maybe there was an intention to believe.
