The Lyrics

This is Side B of my Donovan two-fer. For most people who are still young enough to bear or sire offspring, their first exposure to this daffy song came in the movie, "Goodfellas", where in a moment of supreme irony it plays in the background of the scene where Billy Batts is beaten unconscious. So I thought I would continue the joke and provide lyrics to the background music
The contretemps# of Bill Batts' death was a crisis, which plagued, before the Great Whack*,
Near the area we now call The Kennedy Airport

So great Bill's ability to taunt, that from his corner stool those brutalized insults busted up
The balls and nads of goom-bahs with ease
With his digs at childhood trades

At his whim, DeVito was disfavored .... about a wood box for shoe shines
The great Joe-Pescian rage was but a response to the Bill Batt-sian insult

The anti-DeVito-an "bing" scandalized the bar. All the stomps betrayed by hematomical
markings and all whippings from all hands ... stemmed from great Bill Batts' dis.

Sensing foul play, Bill Batts' friends sent out crews to all corners of The City. On board were
The Twelve -- The Capo, The Enforcer, The Goom-bah, The Consigliest, The Mamaluke
And all the other so called thugs of their Cosa

Though thugs they were, and as the 'Fellas of Tom's crew chose to remain dumb
Let us "bing" and whack and bada the boom

Avenge Bill Batts' death!

Way down, below the daisies, near a shady tree, Batts may be
Way down, below the daisies, near some old debris, he may be
Way down, below the daisies, where his corpse may be, we can't see
Way down, below the Hudson, whacked in killing spree, he may be
Way down, among the fishes, there his corpse may be, we can't see

My anti-Devito-an buddy, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
We're gonna find you someday
My anti-Devito-an buddy, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
My anti-Devito-an buddy
My anti-Devito-an buddy, we'll whack 'em some day
Bill, we're gonna find you some day .......
#Unexpected, unfortunate occurrence .... *Of Tommy DeVito, of course
