Phil: I usually steer clear of political themes, because they tend to result in shouting matches between liberals and conservatives. But I figured, "What could go wrong if I targeted a moderate?" Well, now I know (heh-heh).
Jonathan: I use a different system of scoring than 5's vs 1's. I think the measure of success is the Total Votes count. If figure if I don't get a few 1's, my material is not edgy enough.

This is Capitol Steps-worthy material. You ought to send it to them. I would not be moderate in my praise for this parody. I'd like to hear someone record it.

Patrick, according to their website, Capitol Steps writes all their own lyrics, and they don't take unsolicited submissions. The only time I ever heard one of my parodies recorded was at a Karaoke site that normally doesn't allow parodies. It was one of my racier songs, and the guy that sang did a horrible job. Although he did give me credit for writing the lyrics, he posted his recording without my knowledge, and I just stumbled on it by chance in the process of looking for something else.
