"The Philanderer"

Parody Written by:

Steve C. Aiello

The Lyrics

this song dates back to when president clinton got re-elected to his 2nd term, during the monica lewinsky affair.
well, i'm the type of guy
who loves to fool around
especially when my wife
is in another town....

and when she goes away
i always get my pick,
but it wont be janet reno
or that pig linda tripp....

they call me the philanderer,
the philanderer,
i screw around, around, around, around and around

well there's paula on my left
and there's jennifer on my right,
but monica's the one....
that i'll seduce tonight

and when she smiles up at me
i'll know i've done my best
just look at kenneth starr
examining her dress

they call me the philanderer
the philanderer
i screw around, around , around, around and around

well i stare the girls up and down,
i try to picture them in their nightgowns
the most powerful man around
with my brass balls on air
the next stop lilleth fair....

well i'm one lucky guy
i know without a doubt
i just dont really see
what the fuss is all about

you showed me at the poll's
that the country's on my side
and now you expect me
to admit that i lied

they call me the philanderer,
the philanderer
i screw around, around, around, around and around

Kinda old news, Steve, this is 2004, not 1998. This is a topical parody that ought to pay attention to the "Freshness" dates on the subject matter. But you did a real fine job on the pacing and if I get in a time machine it's pretty cute. So I gave you 5-4-5 here.

I have a same theme limerick from around that time, I'll let that be my comment:

A hardworking airhead from Braintree
got an internship 'cos she was brainfree
as a job it did suck
but she got off with luck
'cos her dress was all found to be stainfree

Fresh? Drug-Rush Limbaugh did this about Ted Kennedy in 1991! Of course, Ted's thinner again, and he's still on his second marriage while Rush just got dumped by his third. Do you get it? This was three election cycles ago! (Wait a minute, Mike, aren't you the guy who did The Presidential Parody Project?) Yeah, but at least I didn't rip anybody off to do it! William Tong still does his share of Newt Gingrich parodies, but he doesn't rip off Mark Russell songs about Bush Sr. barfing on the Prime Minister of Japan!
