The Lyrics

Here's a little tune for all the flower child in all of us... Enjoy .
Original songwriter Joni Mitchell
Original recording artists Joni Mitchell / Crosby Stills Nash (Young )

I came upon a site of laud
I was searching in Google mode
And it asked me , was I ever knowing
of this Chucky G

Well, I'm clicking on Grosvenor's farm
I'm gonna toy with some rock n roll plans
Get feedback from my fans
who'll vote.. you see

We are parodists
We have chosen
To write our folly with a hint of stardom
And we make amusing cracks
with our spoofy jargon

Then can I write beside you
Sometimes life is just a bog
And I feel to be a trog
With something yearning

Can we share a cyber beer
Slap five on your cyber hand
Cause I am just a ham
with a story churning

We are parodists
We have chosen
to write our folly with hint of stardom
And we make amusing cracks
with our spoofy jargon

By the time that Chucky took stock
he'd amassed ten thousand songs
'bout everything from thongs to preservation

And the leader was the "Tong"-er
who shot puns in the site
Inspired the Left and Right
to make creations

We are parodists
We have chosen
To write our folly with a hint of stardom
And we come to Amiright
asking no Pardon

Woodstock was 34 years ago this month. I was overdosing on Zwieback Cookies back then.

Claude, I mentioned you in my "Gomez -Di Rito" parody that you are the "Prez of Lyricdom" I value your opinion, because I admire your lyrical skills, and flawless pacing. Anyone that can write a parody about something as simple as two peppers (and make it hot) , well your a cut above in my opinion. Thanks you for your comment.

Most excellent parody of a most excellent cultural/musical icon! I was eleventeen years old when Woodstock happened...I might not have been a participant but I remember those days well. Good work, Wild Man - I loved CSN and CSN&Y in college, and I still do....thanks for the memories...5's

Thank you for your generous comments, Rick. I enjoy using amiright and the amiwriters as parody material. It's something we can all relate to. The Woodstock era is an largely untapped arsenal of artists and themes. I'm glad you liked it. CSNY one of my favorites!

I'm starting to cruise around, and I'm finding amazing things. I usually don't like the "in joke" ones because I think like a performer. (Although if there's ever a convention, all bets are off) But I liked this one because it gives us a little history, and it matches the song well. Since I'm a "Woodstocker" I relate. (Woodstocker? Boy, that sounds very wrong!) Glad to be part of the posse, Wild Man.

Good one there WM - No comment yet from the Chuckers?

I think think should be the opening theme song for the Amiright convention. We would need a few good musicians and singers to showcase our parody tunes. Any takers?

HEY CHUCKY Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! No Guy, I think he only notices me when I act like a WILD MAN!
Rick D - November 10, 2003 - Report this comment
You have two of them right here already starting to do that. If there's a convention, Mari and I can play most of this stuff. Of course, you know who's stuff we know best......
Wild Man - November 11, 2003 - Report this comment
Thanks Rick and Mari. According to the message board we are 1.5 years away from Amiright's 5th anniversary. Chuck started his music disscussion Website 8.5 years ago. The Convention would coincide with the Anniversary.
