The Lyrics

This is the 9th song out of 10 I've now posted on my "CSN, The Thumb Album" Parody Project. Baseball season is upon us now. You will most likely see this scene repeated quite often over the next 6 months or so. The Season is opening on the road for our Manager. He's made sure the wife's OK while he's away(see "Pre-Road Thumbs"). But now he has other problems with "hands"
Questioning the calls the Ump made at the plate
Said some things that might not be appropriate
Had problems with all his calls
He could not tell strikes from balls
American League umps should know what to do

Yelling loudly I went out and spoke my mind
Said some things about his mother quite unkind
Can't believe he called that balk
By reflex I had to squawk
He said "One more word and you are through"

I just got ejected for opinions I expressed
All that I suggested was he have his sight addressed
Don't think that's such a bad request.

Thrown out of the game
Thrown out of the game

They will fine me lots of money for what I said there
All that I said was "Please be faaaa-aairrrre"

Now I can't watch 'cause I must leave the dugout
Maybe next time I had better watch my mou-mou-mou-mou-mouth
Still, I had to go out there
Did not think his calls were fair
What else is a Manager to do?

But he just thumbed me out!

I just got ejected for opinions I expressed
All that I suggested was he have his sight addressed
Don't think that's such a bad request.

I just got ejected for opinions I expressed
All that I suggested was he have his sight addressed
Don't think that's such a bad request.

Thrown out of the game
Thrown out of the game
Thrown out of.........
So I'm almost done with this Project now. Just one more song to finish and then I'll have to move in 'thumb' other direction. 'Thumb' of you are probably thinking that it's all for the best...Think I agree at this point...been fun, tho'

Fun song to do a parody to...I've been introduced to songs that I didn't know before. I really like this parody! 5's

I'm beginning to see a pattern here. I DKTOS for any of your 'thumbin' Crosby, Stills and Nash parodies lately. I promise if I ever get to hear some of their stuff I'll search out your parodies and give as many as I can a full blown review. In the meantime, good luck with the last one.

Paul, did anyone tell you that you have a green THUMB for parodies? My favorite line is the one with "mou-mou-mou-mou-mouth."

Adagio, 2nz, Agrimorfee - Thanks. Of course that was one of my ulterior motives with the project, too. Glad it worked. The original is a great album. It's hard to believe it came out 35 years ago! Now it I can lift my head off the pillow this afternoon I might watch the LOTR I rented to return the favor (it's a week-long rental, anyway). I've having a problem with my teeth and not feeling so great today. Johnny D, hadn't thought of that one. My last project installment is about half done but in my current state don't know if I will finish it today.

Paul, sorry you're not feeling well.

Do all these CSN songs come from the same album? What's the name?

Glad you rented LOTR, I think you'll enjoy it.

Well done, Paul. Is this a Tommy Lasorda parody?

Mari D - coming from you that's "thumb" compliment. Adagio - YES! Same album. Title is "Crosby, Stills & Nash" same as the group name and it's original release date was 1969. I don't know if the catalogue # is still the same: "82651-2". I happen to have a used CD of it I bought right after I got my first CD player about 8 years ago for $7, but that's the only used one I ever bought. It plays OK, though. The cover shows the three of them sitting on an old couch in front of an old wood-frame house. Hard to believe that Stills & Crosby were once that young and un-fat! Back cover has Dallas Taylor (the drummer on the album) peering weirdly through the back-door window. Alvin, I'll have to give it some thought, was thinking of just going back into regular mode for a while, but I could be addicted the 'theme' projects' at this point. It's something I'd like to try again at some point, for sure. Johnny D, careful the "Thumb" theme thing is not "Thumb-thing" to fool around with! "Thumb-thing" strange takes over you when you delve into it...Beware!!! "Thumba Chameleon", I like it!! Agree with Adagio, could be painful in the wrong 'hands'. John J - It does sorta sound like Lasorda, doesn't it? Peregrin, thanks!

Paul, the makk music store didn't have that album, but there are several used music stores here too. I didn't come away empty handed, though...I got the "Triplets of Belleville" soundtrack.

Adagio, I did a little checking. If you can find it used that might be the way to go but depending on your budget it is available New. I checked (a very good source for music information, by the the way), and Barnes & Noble has it for $17.08 ($16.23 if you have their discount card, which I do). I'm sure Amazon and some of the other on-line music outlets have it too, and the prices may vary slightly. I noticed it IS a REMASTERED version, so it might be worth the extra anyway. I've heard some of the remastered cuts on some CSN collection albums and they are pretty spiffy. I'm tempted now myself...hmmm....

I didn't comment before because I'm not into baseball, but this was well done, and I am into CSN

(ABC) Thumb-thing tells me this is extrememly creative. I especially like the OS as well. I could have used this idea on "My Number One Project".

Thumb is a wonderful digit that opposes to
If we never had a thumb
We'd be like the other species, considered dumb.

I'm going to have to check out your "thumb" project. For 'thumb' unknown reason I missed this.

Thanks, Guy! Glad you liked it. The "CSN: The Thumb Album" Project was done in March. I did all the songs from their first album with "thumb" sort of thumb theme, and when the involuntary phase of my commitment was over I was still very pleased with the way they came out. Arwen/Jared/Jeff/Per/Philbo/JD & Mer - passing along "Thumb" Thanks to all of you. Mer - I guess it's because that digit's particular design is not as good for scratching as some of it's neighbors. However, the Thumb IS known to be a particularly effective digit for plucking various things with. Many a plum has been plucked from many a pie with the thumb, and I say this although at times I must admit to not having been a good boy in each and every plum-plucking instance...

Doh, still a blank I draw for Stosby, Nills and Crash. Even so, I still enjoyed the expressed/addressed/request stanza.
