The Lyrics

This will be a new video for Sindy Skinless and the Decomposers. They are an animatronic, life-sized skeleton singing group with an attitude.Google them to find out more.
Early in the evening, Fred sat down to dine
He was eating blowfish, and he thought it tasted fine
Soon he met the coroner, who saw this boy’s last meal
After some bad Fugu, he’s laid out on stainless steel

Down at the coroners, under a sheet
Freddy shoulda watched what he was eatin’
Got a toe tag on his feet

Willy got excited, doin’ a bungee jump
Didn’t lock his carabiner, now he’s lying in a lump
The last thing that old Willy said, was “Geronimo!”
All that’s left was Willy Jelly on the rocks below!

Down at the coroners, a pile of soft meat
Willy Shoulda stayed home on the sofa
Got a toe tag on his feet

(Music Interlude)

Down at the coroners, under a sheet
Chilly is the slab that they are laid on
Got a toe tag on their feet.

(Music Interlude)

Jack was down to his last penny, so he went to a loan shark
But Jackie didn’t pay him back and soon his life went dark.
Over at the coroners, you hear a funny sound
T’was all the lead that hit the tray from all the slugs they found.

Down at the coroners, under a sheet
Jackie shoulda watched his back more careful
Got a toe tag on his feet

Down at the coroners, under a sheet
Freddy shoulda watched what he was eatin’
Got a toe tag on his feet

Down at the coroners, a pile of soft meat
Willy Shoulda stayed home on the sofa
Got a toe tag on his feet

(Repeat last three choruses)

Down at the coroners, under a sheet
Chilly is the slab that they are laid on
Got a toe tag on their feet.

Kinda reminds me of a quote I read somewhere: "Where did you get your good judgment?" "From my bad experience." "Well, how did you get that bad experience?" "From my poor judgment!"

My brother and I were just discussing this the other day. While some Americans cower in their safe spaces, afraid they may overhear an opinion different from their own, others face life boldly, if blindly, daring fate. There was a movie tribute to such people. I think it was called "Jackass". In my youth, mothers used to ask their sons, "If the other kids were jumping off the roof, would you jump, too?" For some, the answer was "Yes". There's a fine line between piloting an experimental space ship and leaping off a bridge with a rubber band tied to your ankle. Or wearing a MAGA hat on the street in Chicago at two a.m.

Looking over this song, I can't help but be reminded of that Spike TV show 1000 ways to die.

I listened to the recording. Really cool. By the way, I'll take the opportunity once again to let anyone with recording equipment know that you are authorized to perform, record, or video anything under my name or that of Phred Phlips. Just send me a copy. If you make any money, ha, ha, you can send me some of that, too.
