The Lyrics

At the risk of getting ones on the rest of my songs, threatening E mails and having my house vandalized, I cannot give out my name or town.
Call me vulgar, call me crass -
Tell me I aint got no class -
Marchin' to the same ole drummer.
If offended, hear me out -
Something I must sing about -
You may think this parody's a bummer.

I must admit that I really like James Blunt.
You're not unfit if you really like James Blunt.
He just sorta grows on you.

Disco, punk, hip hop and rap -
Music morphing into crap -
Sounds like Hitler speeches set to song.
Raucous noises grind away -
The radio just pined away -
'Till I heard those plaintive love songs.

I can't help it if I really like James Blunt.
I cannot quit 'till I defend James Blunt.
He just grew - grew on me.
OK, so his singing isn't the greatest. Bob Dylan was no Tony Bennet either, but his songs were good.

Well, that took a lot of guts. In all seriousness, I think the problem with the Blunt Instrument -- besides his whiny falsetto, making Barry Gibb sound about as macho as Bon Scott, and that incredibly ridiculous, hypothermal, obsessive-compulsive, suicidal video -- is that we just kept hearing that damn song over and over and over again, my friend, until we all believed we were on the eve of destruction. (Now THAT is a great song, even though it's even more depressing.) In other words, the problem with Blunt is that we were SICK OF HIM! Until we were SICKENED BY HIM! So it's the fault of Top 40 radio. At any rate, this was an OK parody (and I give you credit for liking CCR), but I wouldn't want to hear it 10 times day for three months, like we did with "You're Beautiful." Just promise me you don't like Sean Paul, 'cause then I'd HAVE to triple-one you.

It just had to be YOU writing that sort of comment Mr Pacholek! No worries though, just raised a chuckle on my face :-)
