Parody Song Title:

"Take Good Care of My Prius"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

My girl's at college.
(Yes, they've taken her at Yale.)
She's got my sweet Toyota now--
That's why I'm writing this email:

"Take good care of my Prius--
Please don't back into a tree!
Just treat her like you love her,
And use the canvas cover,
Protecting her from snow and bees!

Take good care of my Prius--
Never go over forty-five!
Just keep her waxed and oiled--
Don't let her shocks get soiled--
And always stay in Eco-Drive!

Last year at this time
We purchased her online--
Couldn't foresee
You'd score so well on S.A.T.'s, so--

Take good care of my Prius--
Keep her as shiny as can be!
But if you dent her fender
Or to drunk roomies lend her,
Don't even bother coming home to me!

Well, take good care of my Prius--
Maintain her 60 mpg!
But should they catch you speeding,
Or driving while you're tweeting,
I wish you luck with your new fa--mi--ly!!"

Glad to see you have your Pri-orities straight. Greater faith hath no man than that he trust his car to another.

Amen, Brother Patrick, and thank you!

To each his own. A car with a 1.5l 4 cyl, 70 HP/82 torque motor is a liability, not a plus. And mpg average over all models, entire line is more like 43 mpg average although the 2016 is claimed 51/48. I prefer big, high HP and torque V-8s with bigger fuel tanks. I don't care about 17/24. Power and prestige is better. And don't get me started on non-hybrid all-electrics that go 35 mph in 0-30 seconds!!! Nice 100 mile range RT!!! Better pack a flare gun and food for a week for when you get stranded in a desert at night! 555 wishful thinkers concerning hybrid vehicles!

Bob, I grew up with muscle cars and my dad once worked for AMC in his youth. He tended to buy AMCs with big 8s, but after he died mom bought a '77 Grand Prix with a 403!!! I love Mustangs, Camaros, Monte Carlos, Corvettes, Chargers, Challengers, and classics like the Roadrunner Superbird, GTO, Javelin AMX, etc... Ironic that I worked for Mitsubishi in my youth. Dad would have killed me, but then again... AMC died. With cars, it's about personalities generally. I like power, my brother loves trucks, and my sister likes foreign SUVs! If I were rich it wouldn't change my car preferences although I might buy a German Maybach or Audi A8W12 for show...

Good stories, Rob. Did you read about the guy who bought the Hellcat and wrapped it around a tree driving it away from the dealership? I bet his wife said, "Plymouth Neon from now on, dear!"

Bob, I did a parody on the Hellcat with 707 HP. But check YouTube on the 3200 HP Monster Camaro with a 622 cubic inch engine with 2x 98mm Turbos!!! Many racing Camaros are anywhere from 1500-3000 HP!!! I've raced modified cars and bikes and have gone over 200 mph during timed runs both ways. The deceleration on the bikes is much scarier than the cars and requires miles of braking and downshifting. A heart pounding and bone jarring experience. I could never own an Electric vehicle, which I call a Slugcar... and I live in Sacramento, CA. Governor Brown forgive me!!!

I think the guv wouldn't mind so much if you got a Tesla. I kind of drool when I see those things. You certainly can't hear them!

Bob, Porsche had the first electric cars in 1898 and first hybrid ICE-Electric Lohner-Porsche Mixte by 1901: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/13/Lohner_Porsche.jpg/560px-Lohner_Porsche.jpg

So I guess if my repair shop offers me a Lohner I should take it.
