Funny men who come once more to play
Now must stand at least six feet away
Things sure have changed, I have to say

Revelry?
Been replaced with grim solemnity
There's not half the acts there used to be
A toll is taken, visibly

Something I must do, where's the loo?*
That mime won't say
There could be a mess
Must decipher gesture way

Sad to say
Politics is all we talk today
Right and left contend in wild affray
The things we break, we'll have to pay

Will we laugh once more? Or make war?
To know, no way
It's gone way too long
Stop it now, oh Lord I pray
