The Lyrics

On June 18th, barring unforseen circumstances, Sir Paul will finally reach the milestone he anticipated all those years ago, and will get to reminisce about everything that's happened in between.
When I was younger, I wrote a song
Thinking of today
Wondering if I would be enjoying life
Or would I be wasting away?
Leaving the Beatles, then came the Wings
Solo act once more
Still they will listen, still they buy tickets
Though I'm sixty-four

Hmm---mmm---mmm
Now I don't eat meat
Aaah, and if you serve me food
Veggies I will eat

Ringo and I, we're missing our friends
John and George have gone
Townsend lost his hearing, that's what I've been told
Keith Moon died before he got old
Look at Keith Richards, is he undead?
Mick still sings some more
Thanks to the Stones, I'm still not alone now
That I'm sixty four

Every summer we can spend vacation
In the land of Scots, up there on my farm
Heather's my new wife
Now, my children all grown up
I've had quite a life

Venus And Mars, and Band On The Run
At The Speed Of Sound
London Town and Tug Of War and Pipes Of Peace
They've all made my fortune increase
Singing duets with Stevie and Mike
This old troubadour
Isn't it great how far I have made it?
Now I'm sixty four
Actually, "Wings" had no "the", but I needed a syllable.

This is a fun tribute. Especially liked the undead Keith Richards line.

Good one! 5's (Shame you didn't get Heather's wooden leg in tho! ;-P )

lovely pacing, Steve, and some great references - one reminded me of Letterman's one-liner about truth in advertising: Tomorrow night, on THIS channel, watch the Rolling Stones...LIVE (except for Keith Richards)

I don't see how Paul could be worried about the big 6-4, he doin' just fine.

Thanks, everyone. Seems I ain't the only one who thinks Keith Richards is already decomposing. Lucid - I didn't even think about Heather's wooden leg. But then, maybe I should kick myself for not even mentioning Linda. Kat - With all the success he's had, all the $$$ he's made (much of it from owning the rights to other's songs), and a new kid with Heather, I think Sir Paul's not complaining at all.

I figured the first Paul-really-is-64 parody wouldn't come for a few more weeks yet. Maybe the first good one will. This one was a little sloppy. And you had to mention Linda to get fives, and you didn't. It also doesn't seem right to mention John and George's early deaths in a song that's meant to be light-hearted.

Great. Heard the one on Neil Rogers? I think you got a competition with that "64" Parody. But overall, i loved it. Thanks for it.

I've changed my mind. I like this one a lot more now.
