Following through on Johnny D's suggestion to parody my own failure to come up with a birthday parody for Arwen last week.
Last Thursday,
Arwen's birth we all did celebrate
But alas, my parody is late
I missed the date --
‘Twas last Thursday
Struggling,
I'd hoped to achieve hilarity
But a blank page was reality --
That's how it was for many days
Ideas came so slow
Then they'd go -- they wouldn't stay
I tried many songs
How I long for last Wednesday-ay-ay-ay
Last Thursday,
Yes, by now it seems so far away
And my parody is very late,
(Though everyday is Arwednesday...)
Clearly, I'm no pro
I don't know what else to say
Her day's come and gone
How I wronged her last Thursday-ay-ay-ay
Last Thursday,
Yes, by now it seems so far away
Maybe I'll make Arwen's next birthday,
(If I get started, like, today)
...Hm-mm-mm-mm
Yes, today
