Parody Song Title:

"Why, My Jap Car's A Junk Heap"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

From someone who was unfortunate enough to have owned a Mitsubishi - Never, EVER, again...
I look quite appalled, 'cus the horn won't stop beeping
Why, my jap car's a junk heap
There's rust in the floor and repair costs climb steeply
Still my jap car's a junk heap
I don't know why the Midas muffler on manifold won't muff
I can't control window controller
If there's a flood I'm screwed...

I put it on blocks, now the wheels'r not turning
Why, my jap car's a junk heap
Whenever the brakes, were applied, pads start burning
Still, my jap car's a junk heap

(sounds of grinding, clunking and squealing)

When I drive out repair crews spurted
Tow trucks alerted too
I scream at how my funds diverted
My back's unshirted too

I look at my oil see that stuff there that's seeping
Why, my jap car's a junk heap
Took cab I called...
Hell, my jap car's a junk heap

Ditto Dee Range's thoughts. (the fussy editor in me was a little put off by minor errors in grammar and tense, but I am letting it go)555

It's like you've been secretly spying on me! I paid my car off last week, and now it's totally falling apart. Grinding, clunking and squealing is the music that I drive to...

5 quarts of oil; 3 fills. I had a couple of Mits. . .perhaps the only person who had good luck with them. But, never again.

I have had similar troubles, just pointing out similar warped minds http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/thebeatles322.shtml I could be accused of tooting my own horn with this, but it's broken.

Well, that'll teach ya' - gotta buy AMERICAN...OH, wait...those cars aren't really made here anymore, either, are they??? Well - 5's anyway...OH, OH, REALLY gotta go, I changed the time of a promised meeting until 3:00 today and now THAT time is only 1 hour away. Later...

A fine piece in the tradition of "A Car Full of Holes" by My Name Is Kenny and my own "A Matter of Rust." You know what they say: "Give a man a Mitsubish, and he'll drive for a day. Teach a man to fix a Mitsubish, and he'll be in the garage for a lifetime."

This one is excellent! I can really associate with this one. The next car is going to be a porche....

Thanks everyone so much for your comments! :-)

Paul, what makes you think we are in America? ;-)

Kerry - does Pip know about this Porche yet? :-O

How would a porsche look with a utility trailer attached?

I never had problems with Mitsubishi. But then again, I only rented it for a few weeks.

Mer - My "Ameri-centric" view of the world, of course...we are just SO damned full of ourselves and our importance to everyone else.

I can't believe you just used "orientals" in a sentence, Kristof. That's seriously offensive.

SOTM - I missed another great one. Glad to have caught this before it slipped into the abyss. I had several Japanese junkers when I lived in Japan. I remember a Mazda I owned. It made "me so bitchy". The horn blew at random just like in your song. "Oh me so horny". I know someone who can fix your car and it will only cost you $555.00.

(SOTM) 90% of US culture has been taught to me via MAD Magazine, and it always seemed to imply that American cars were of much inferior quality than Japanese products. So after reading this insightful piece, I am keeping distance from every Ford and Cadillac I see. A great parody, my hobbity friends.

(SOTM) Words of Wisdom from this Dr. Phil....Don't buy Buicks either, they're also junky. I know that from experience. Some Japanese cars are good, especially Honda. Anyway, really good parody.

Baby, you can have my car. This parody explains exactly why I now refuse to drive anything but a waverunner. Nice job as usual, Smeagol & Gollum.

Strangely enough, I now own a Mitsubishi: bought because the stats say it's the most reliable in its class.... the parody was kind of enjoyable, though

Excellent parody. Like John Barry, I have had good luck with my Mitsubishis except that the first two were totalled in accidents (the other drivers' faults) and the second accident occurred the day I bought it as I was driving it home from the dealer.

(AUG SOTM) - My '98 Ford Escort is the most reliable car I've ever owned, for whatever that's worth. I've only driven about 50,000 miles in it, but have had no real problems so far (I know, it's a dangerous thing to say when you still own the car). I have no idea where it was actually made, however. 5's for you parody.

"Service engine soon... I wonder what that's all about..." My Ford Taurus like to break, mostly because it's a family sedan but I don't drive it like a family sedan. Oh, the memories... nice parody, before I drift off again...
