Every now and then I think
I'm the only one who's bored
Teacher calls on me
And then I stand all tense
And stumble mumble some words
And curse the MONOTONY
And then along comes Mary
And does she have a little lamb who is
The source of child bedlam and thus
Gives the slam to ENNUI-I-I-I!
And will they rather blather rules
For all the schools and education
No one REALLY NEEDS

When she came, kids were all at recess
Now class decorum is all in a mess

When ovine instinct has been linked
In the minds of sheep
To follow .. Mar' to school
And when this baby sheep does bleat
And nursery rhymes have lines
About a .. BREACH in rules
And re this lamb of Mary's
Well does it have a fleece of white
Which recalls the sight of snow at night
In Christmas songs ACCLAIMED?
Or is it more a fleece of gold
As in the Grecian myths of old
Of Jason and ARGONAUTIC FAME?

When she came, well the kids were at lunch
Now teacher's plans are all in a crunch

And when the lampoon in the classroom
Has passed, the daft and laughing kids
Are hurled OUTSIDE to play
Their ruminations of ungulates are done
Their song will be well sung
And flung to the PRESENT day
And it's all on Mary
And will they wanna save the joy of the
Hoi Polloi from the antics of the boys
On that sheepish DAY-AY-AY'AY!
Or will the withered fools choose to be uncool
As their sheepist law unspools to children's call
For no RULES TODAY?
