The Lyrics

No idea how this one ended up like this... it kind of works best if sung in faux Russian-spy sort of accent.
Hi Natasha, hello Gregor
Here I am in ... San Diegg-or
And I'm writing ... now to warn ya
That boshe moi! It's hot in California

Here's a very ... burning question
(And that ain't just ... an expression)
I will tell you ... 'bout it later
After Pravda interview with Governator

Cops are looking ... for the perp as
Fires were started ... here on purpose
Maybe some ars...onist prankster
Or the thuggish employee of Russian gangster

All that's hotter ... than the res'dents
Is annoying ... little pres'dents
Who should watch their ... own survival
'Cause I hear there's burning Bushes in the Bible

I'll come home Natasha, Gregor
When it's blown out San Diegor
And the heat caused in my shoes a hole
For tea, I'll have the toasted sole

I'll come home when airport isn't all aflame
And when I'm fin'ly out the frame
Because my biggest fear's
They'll lock me up for years and years

So please Gregor ... and Natasha
Now I'm asking ... you for cash-a
Here's the message ... I have for ya
Send some money 'cause I need a better lawyer

Wait a minute ... this is perfict
They return not ... guilty verdict
Guess nobody ... saw me lurking
So tell KGB their arson plan is working

I smell a crisply-done conspiracy theorist. Maybe a bit too soon for some, but still, 5s for you.

Yes, it is hot here in southern California, and my daughter in San Diego had to evacuate her home; but, even though the parody's bridge did not seem to match that of TOS, this parody will remain hot stuff long after the San Diego fires have been extinguished. Every verse had clever humor (yes, even the Bible verse).

:-D Thanks, all
TJC- I think "spinning" may be closer..
JJ - thanks for commenting from the area in question: spotted any odd Russians lately?
McK - Thankfully that isn't heating up too much at the moment
And to all those who mentioned the "burning bush" line - it's taken me nearly eight years to fit it into a parody: it's never quite worked well enough 'til now :-)
