The Lyrics

You can listen to the original song here - it's a lovely little ditty I've heard played live enough times to get stuck in my head.. and this is always what happens
Grandpa sitting in his rocking chair,
He choose the channel & it's just not fair
Waiting for the porn to start on Adult-3
Daddy, why've we only got one TV?

Evening telly gives us so much choice
But what someone picks always annoys
Thirty-year-old "Opportunity Knocks"???
We've got the curse of the digi-box

Turn it over - you've got the telly-picker
It's the news on BBC1
UK Gold's showin' Jonathan Creek
Extreme Fishing is on Dave+1

Turn it over - you've got the telly-picker
Doctor Who repeats've just begun
Dave is now showin' Jonathan Creek
Who cares if we're missin' what's on BBC1

Big Bang Theory on E4
How may times they shown that before?
How I met your mother - another repeat
That's always on when it's time to eat

Three channels all got Stephen Fry
Too easy to OD on QI
Challenge showing yet another quiz
Not seen since the seventies

Turn it off - you've got the telly-picker
QVC's tryin' to sell us sun
UK Gold's got another repeat
Of Top 'kin Gear and that c-Clarkson

Turn it off - you've got the telly-picker
How much is worth watching? None
Someone's cookin' up bubble and squeak
For a dinner party and that just ain't done

Never stop searching (Never stop searching)
Never stop searching for Thundercats
Never stop searching (Never stop searching)
Never stop searching for Thundercats

Never stop searching (Never stop searching)
Never stop searching for Thundercats
Never stop searching (Never stop searching)
Never stop searching for Thundercats

Turn it up - you've got the telly-picker
I can't hear what has just begun
That's the theme tune for Jonathan Creek
I'm in vain wishin' I ain't seen that one

Turn it up - you've got the telly-picker
Clint E's holding a massive gun
Is that guy speaking classical Greek
Or maybe it's Latin. a sine qua non

Never stop searching for Thundercats
Never stop searching for Thundercats

Not familiar with the OS, but I know the feeling of having lots of channels and nothing to watch.

Unlikely you would know the OS, Patrick: the Caution Horses are a couple of friends I've shared a stage with on a few occasions (I've played along with this song once or twice) - you can hear the original from the link above, though.

555! Once again you pointed me to an OS that was a fun listen and led to a fun parody! I had to look up Thundercats. I've never had cable TV, but back before I quit watching TV altogether, when I'd get bored with what was on the local stations, I'd look at the cable listings to see if I might want to get cable. It seemed like it was mostly reruns, so I never did.
