Couldn't resist this parody of a parody off OMR! Did it in under 2 minutes. The "Schmeisser" was the Bergmann MP-18 of WW1 that led to the MP-28 Interwar and then the MP-38 led to the MP-40 which was called a "Schmeisser" but was actually designed by Vollmer of Erma. They are not the same. Stormtroopers used the MP-18 as trench sweper in WW1 while the MP-40 was used by the German Army, Waffen SS, Gestapo, General SS, and Luftwaffe Paras (Fallschirmjaeger) on all 3 fronts (West, Med, and East). Post-WW2 Walther made the MPK and MPL for police and later HK made the incredible world renowned MP-5. HK now has issued the submachine gun's replacement- the PDW as MP-7. This is a very compact Personal Defense Weapon used by both non-combat military personnel as well as SFs.
