The Lyrics

First Nicki Minaj parody- came up with this after watching her video for "Super Bass" and wondered how to use the BOOM, BOOM part...??? Then easy, I thought of the awesome 88mm Flak AA gun. Germans used 88s in many forms including the PAK 43 AT gun and also the KwK guns for the Tiger tanks. Even the crummy US Bazooka when captured in Tunisia by the Germans was modified from 76mm up to 88mm for the Panzerschreck AT weapon. But the Flak 18/36/37/41 series will always be remembered as the Fearsome 88s of WW2. A few nations that had captured examples kept them postwar up until the 1960s!!!
These guns are for the Nazis in their Air Defense System
Flak Towers, heavy AA firin’ bursts that are ear-splittin’
When the enemy flies over in the clouds, guns be blazin' up
Got hits on multiple targets, bombers be blowin' up
And they kill, for real, gotta admire the Flak gunners zeal
They pop bombers showin’ they got the right kind of skill
They cold, but bold, Flak artillery’s an awesome sight to behold
They fire heavy bursts in the air, as the dreaded B-17s approach
They have tremendous firepower, firepower, firin’ round the hour, hour
When they roar like thunder, thundering firepower, firepower
That's the type of gun Germany shoots from Flak Towers
And yes, they put on a hell of a show
What dread, Allies run, that’s one hell of a gun
Bomber pilots cry, cry, cry, as it lights up the sky
Bursts high, makes ‘em wonder if today they’re gonna die
Bombers taking hits, on fire, gunners inside startin‘ to fry, oh no!
Yes a hit, yes a hit, now bail out fast, last out is the pilot
Caught in a fire barrage, the guns tear them up, blow them up, and turn the heat up

[Chorus]
Germans got the AA guns firin' away
Deafening explosions and it's coming your way
Can't you hear that boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, 88
Yeah, that's the Fearsome 88
Got that Fearsome 88 boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, 88
Yeah, that's the Fearsome 88
Boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, they got the Fearsome 88
boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, they got the Fearsome 88

This one is for the boys in the bombers
Flak attack, the mood is very somber
Bombers flying level in a tight formation, there’s no escapin’
Good luck with maneuvers for evasion
It must be a bitch to face the mighty Flak 41
Better open the bomb bay, gotta drop them bombs
A sudden silence, are they off the hook, well, are they off the hook?
Guns are bein‘ reloaded, oh F--K!!!
Truth be, you’re facin’ shrapnel pain- you know the Germans got a thing for American planes
I mean, (sigh), it’s a sickenin' sight- I see that a B-17 ain’t gonna make that return flight
Yes a hit, yes a hit, now bail out fast, last out is the pilot
Caught in a fire barrage, the guns tear them up, blow them up, and turn the heat up

Germans got the AA guns firin' away
Deafening explosions and it's coming your way
Can't you hear that boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, 88
Yeah, that's the Fearsome 88
Got that Fearsome 88 boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, 88
Yeah, that's the Fearsome 88
Boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, they got the Fearsome 88
boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, they got the Fearsome 88

[Hook]
No, the Flak 41 is gonna make its enemies pay
No, no, no, no, no Flak’s not goin’ away
No, no, no, no, no USAAF bombers bein’ blown away
Germans got the AA guns firin' away
Deafening explosions and it's coming your way
Oh it be like, boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, 88
Can't you hear that boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, 88

Germans got the AA guns firin' away
Deafening explosions and it's coming your way
Can't you hear that boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, 88
Yeah, that's the Fearsome 88
Got that Fearsome 88 boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, 88
Yeah, that's the Fearsome 88
Boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, they got the Fearsome 88
boom, your-doom, boom, boom, your-doom, boom, they got the Fearsome 88

Most 88s were Flak 18 or 36. But I used the improved final model 41 for the song parody. Here is a standard Flak 36: http://www.achtungpanzer.com/images/88_uk.jpg

This version looks better to me, how about you? :-) 555!

Rob - While I truly admire your parody skills and massive knowledge, I must offer a (mild) dissent. The 88 as an anti-aircraft gun was OK, owing its success to its numbers. Where the 88 REALLY made its reputation is when it was deployed for other purposes...as the definitive anti-tank gun and main weapon of the Tiger tank. But your .555 is best of all. ;D

I've held an 88 shell in my hands. Scary to think of what that would do to an airplane or tank.

My old Army-Navy Surplus store used to display such shells- awesome!!! Don't know if they ever had a 88 though... but 5s for this "explosive" parody!!!

OMR, NP... the Flak 18/36/37/41 series will always be remembered as a sybol of German might and agression feared by Allied bomber crews, but I agree- I prefer the bigger 105mm Flak 38/39 and 128mm Flak 40/45, especially in Flakzwilling combos!!! The Germans had experimental 150mm Gerat 60F autoloaders with huge magazines, but they proved too complex. Another solution was the Hansler Electric Guns or helical magazine HF-15, but those were too exotic!!! The weird ones then go to the Wind and Vortex cannons or bizarre above the bomber stream German aerial bombing. As for PAKs and tanks, yeah the 88 was most fearsome able to hit targets out to 4000m penetrating over 150mm (6 in) of enemy armor!!! The Jagdpanther, Tiger I, Ferdinand, and Tiger II all used the 88. The Jagdtiger used the 128mm Pak 44 and so would have the Maus (but with an aux. 75mm co-axial gun). The rival E-100 would have had a 150mm and the Grille SPG a massive 170mm!!!

Hansler Electric Gun can be found here on these pages with or w/o several of the other weird German guns: http://www.reocities.com/pentagon/2833/wunderwaffen/supergun/supergun.html http://greyfalcon.us/Electric%20Cannon%20Uses%20No%20Gunpowder.htm
