Song Parodies -> "I Am Herman"

Original Song Title:

"I Am Woman"

Original Performer:

Jordin Sparks

Parody Song Title:

"I Am Herman"

Parody Written by:

Porfle Popnecker

The Lyrics

I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
Pee Wee Herman
Pee Wee Herman
Yes I am
And nobody else is Pee Wee like I am

Said I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
Pee Wee Herman
Pee Wee Herman
Yes I am
And nobody else can be me quite like I can

It ain't easy prancin' round in Florsheims
But somebody's gotta rock 'em
Spend time in a bowtie
Then you'll see why I don't knock 'em
It's so frivolous
Acting like I do
Always a rebel
Always so cool
Life's so zany
Call me small fry
Well, I know you are
But what am I

I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
Pee Wee Herman
Pee Wee Herman
Yes I am
And nobody else is Pee Wee like I am

Said I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
Pee Wee Herman
Pee Wee Herman
Yes I am
And nobody else can be me quite like I can

I need ice cream, pistachio
It's why I scream
I built this playhouse to wiggle in
Try to bring it down
I'ma get the last giggle in
No yakkity-yak
I speak in Sniglets
Don't play like a gamer with no quarters
I'm the whole platter of enchiladas

You're so funny I
Forgot to be laughin'
Borrow my new bike?
It ain't gonna happen
How far can you hock a loogie
Staring contest, yeah, let's boogie
Say it, don't spray it
That's not how I play it

I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
Pee Wee Herman
Pee Wee Herman
Yes I am
And nobody else is Pee Wee like I am

Said I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
I am (I am) Herman (Herman)
Pee Wee Herman
Pee Wee Herman
Yes I am
And nobody else can be me quite like I can

Porfle, it is indeed a pleasure waiting for your song parodies each day- tides me over until I can buy my Mad Magazine every two months now (and it's NOT cheap anymore)!!! Is that how you developed your S/N??? Sounds like you could have your own mag!!! I used to also collect Cracked (Sylvester P. Smythe) and Crazy (The Nebbish) as well as Sick (?)... but traded those collections in the '80s for Star Wars stuff!!! I miss those issues. I heard that Mad may either spin-off or become another magazine- Idiotica... WTF???

Thanks for the nice comments! Rob, you're right about MAD being a big influence while growing up (not to mention CRACKED and SICK). My S/N is also a nod to my favorite comics character, Herbie Popnecker.

Really dug this one. Never watched the Pee Wee Herman show but I really liked the movie directed by Tim Burton.

Thanks! Yeah, the first movie was great. The second one was pretty awful. I'm looking forward to seeing the DVD of the new Broadway show.

I just listened to the OS, which truly sucks, but this parody is hilarious!

I loved Pee Wee Herman in "Mystery Men" playing the role of The Spleen. Hilarious movie and a hilarious parody!

Thanks, I need to see "Mystery Men"!

Dunno about this one Porfle, I think it needed even more Hermanness...some references to Miss vonne, Cowboy Curtis and Jombi the Genie might have made this even more hilarious. But I can see the man strutting in his Florsheims to this parofy as easily as he would do the same to "Tequila". Sniglets...jeez, you revealed your age to me! :
Porfle Popnecker - September 28, 2011 - Report this comment
Has it been that long since Sniglets? I just watched "The Pee Wee Herman Show on Broadway" so if I were to write this today, it probably would have even more Hermanness!

(Artistry) (Herman laugh) HA hahaha HA! funny stuff here. Amp up the Herman, and you got a great one here.

(Artistry) Lots of good Pee Wee references, but yea, maybe varying the last line of each chorus to bring in a reference to another Playhouse character would make the awesomeness even more awesomnesser.

(Artistry) Haven't seen the show, so I was a little bit confused here, but that's my fault, not yours. Even so, this was a good laugh, pacing was spot on, really good job over all. 555!

Thanks for the comments! I'll definitely amp up the Herman next time.

I remember Peewee. . .the good and the bad. . .Mixed opinions. The idea was hilarious, the power woman song being turned into a PeeWee Herman tribute on its own is funny, but there were tough rhymes in the verses that were missed. All and all great idea, and good execution--but a little more time could have made this one huge. Unfortunately the same can't be said about the subject matter. . .sorry cheap jab, but he did set him self up for it.

Thanks, BAD. If you haven't seen Pee-Wee's recent Broadway comeback show, now out on DVD, it's worth a look.
