The Lyrics

This parody goes out to an unsung celebrity. This character is one of the highest grossing video game characters ever. He was specifically created to rival Mario and Sonic and the most iconic video game character in history. And he is one of my personal favorites. His name is Crash Bandicoot.
Intro: Hey! Hey! Hey!

Verse 1: I met a bear on a quest you see
Used to tell myself he was too cool for me
But now we’re friends, gonna clean this mess
Gotta save my sister from the clutch of Cortex
I got the crystals; I got the peaches (hey)
I got the green gems, had some hard reaches (Now I)
I’m the man that gotta save this land
I even got a mask friend

Hook: Cortex hittin’ me up
Say he wanna meet up
Knows I got the skills no doubt
Cuz when I get to questing
He knows no one can best me
I’m the one that takes him down

Chorus: I’m about to clash, clash, clash, clash; clash
And then I’m gonna bash, bash, bash, bash, bash
Crunch and I will smash, smash, smash, smash, smash
Yo my name is Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash

Verse 2: One day awoke I had been changed
Guess I found myself in a place estranged (And I asked)
What was it that happened to me? (I said)
I know what, what, I know what, what
I will rescue my loving Tawna (and I)
Will never give up, and never faulta (cuz she’s)
She’s the one that my heart beats for
Guess I’m gonna fight more

Hook: Cortex hittin’ me up
Say he wanna meet up
Knows I got the skills no doubt
Cuz when I get to questing
He knows no one can best me
I’m the one that takes him down

Chorus: I’m about to clash, clash, clash, clash; clash
And then I’m gonna bash, bash, bash, bash, bash
Crunch and I will smash, smash, smash, smash, smash
Yo my name is Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash

Bridge: I’ll spin harder
Jump higher (jump higher)
(I’ll do any) I’ll do anything to find them
I slam harder
Fly higher
(I’ll do any) I’ll do anything for my friends
Fate calls!
I know!
Exactly what he wants from me (wants from me)
Anytime my friends are in trouble
Ooh I’m gonna bring the house down!

Hook: Cortex hittin’ me up
Say he wanna meet up
Knows I got the skills no doubt
Cuz when I get to questing
He knows no one can best me
I’m the one that takes him down

Chorus: I’m about to clash, clash, clash, clash; clash
And then I’m gonna bash, bash, bash, bash, bash
Crunch and I will smash, smash, smash, smash, smash
Yo my name is Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash

SOTM: Never heard the OS, nor am I a huge gamer...but this was some pretty good work.

Pretty good parody I guess but it hurts from the original's total minimalism, I'd hardly call it a song, more lika short soundclip stuck on repeat, and that guy in the video looks like Leonardo di Caprio's little brother, which is disturbing on soo many levels (my mind is playing games on me here but I still think you did what could be done with this one, so still OK that far).

I'm unfortunately not familiar with the game, however, the song is very well done. Might have to play to catch up :)

I too am unfamiliar with the game. I remember it was big back in the 90s but I never had a game system (still don't except for the PS2). I'm sure fans of the game will love it and I might get a ROM for it and play it sometime but as of right now I'm stumped.

(SOTM) Kinda simple, but that's the fault of the OS, not you. Not too esoteric, but maybe a link before the parody could've helped those who've never heard of Crash Bandicoot to understand what exactly was going on. And you called them peaches, when I'm pretty sure they're officially known as Wumpa fruit, but I've been known to mess with terminology for the sake of a rhyme, so whatevs. 555 power crystals for you!

Again--I am finding myself agreeing with TCOP. . .Crash Bandicoot had some promise, never really caught on as big as Mario or Sonic (Heck, honestly, Mario may be as well known or more so than the President, he is the Beatles of the video game world) interesting idea, still not really stepping outside the comfort zone , from one writer to another--I can see far more potential than this Blaydeman. Your pacing and rhyming skills are there, and I can see hints of what you could become with more practice, keep entering these contests and apply the suggestions you get from long time parodists/contestants to your work, your results will improve. . .interesting TOS by the way

Love it a lot! Many great lines, good tight writing. Only one that bugged me was ‘estranged place.’ Like, how can a place be estranged?
