The Lyrics

Do you know the Curious Case of Benjamin Button??? You will now...
Verse 1: Born an old man
And died an infant
Aging reversed
And to define it, he can’t
Hoping for the best
But expecting the worst
Are you gonna drop a bomb on us?
Yes he died young
But then he lived a long time
Yes he had the power
Like a beautiful song line
Sitting in a cradle, when he was 90
The story’s really sad man

Chorus: He’s growing young
How can it be? He’s growing young?
Do you really want to de-age Benny?
He’s growing, he’s growing
He’s growing young
How can it be? He’s growing young?
Do you really want to de-age Benny?
He’s growing, he’s growing young

Verse 2: So he lived his life like a fairy tale (fairy tale)
Where the sun is never out and he doesn’t get old
And his possessions are all sold
And the future is unsure
And the people that he loves do not know what has occurred
So then he just disappears and no one knows exactly where he goes
Without a single place to go
Has unknown tomorrow
Just a wishy-washy curse
That last a whole lifetime
And it never ends
Cuz it is like his age is on rewind
Wish he could stay in that moment, with his girl, at this time
Reminisce, talk some shh, but growing young is on his mind
Lives a life he can’t explain, neither space nor time
So when the clock counts down on his life
He is growing young

Chorus: He’s growing young
How can it be? He’s growing young?
Do you really want to de-age Benny?
He’s growing, he’s growing
He’s growing young
How can it be? He’s growing young?
Do you really want to de-age Benny?
He’s growing, he’s growing young

Verse 3: Don’t know how, don’t know why, don’t know much about his life
Life is for growing not growing down right?
‘Til he’s younger and don’t know why
Fear not die, he’s alive last 90 year bye bye’s are not for legends
He’s growing young his name shall survive
Through the darkest times, over decade years, over certain climbs
His name shall be passed down to generations
While debatin’ in better times
Young man, old kid, just do not know what he did
With a little ambition, just a 90 year-old kid
And as Ms. Daisy passed the story down to her daughter’s ear
Younger got younger every year (yeah)
So if you love the story, this is how you let me know
Don’t ever let it go
That’s how you let me baby

Chorus: He’s growing young
How can it be? He’s growing young?
Do you really want to de-age Benny?
He’s growing, he’s growing
He’s growing young
How can it be? He’s growing young?
Do you really want to de-age Benny?
He’s growing, he’s growing

Verse 4: Workin’ on tugboats, yes
Now he’s young, he’s homeless
How’s he gonna fix this
Miss this (hold up)
Daisy thought she lost him
But this did just cost him
And feelings, she tossed’em
Defrost’em (hold up)
He’ll keep getting younger
And Daisy just can’t force it
He ain’t with foreclosure
He will never forfeit
More than 40 years
People don’t know what caused it
Do you get the picture yet?
At 80 he’s a portrait of Young

Chorus: He’s growing young
How can it be? He’s growing young?
Do you really want to de-age Benny?
He’s growing, he’s growing
He’s growing young
How can it be? He’s growing young?
Do you really want to de-age Benny?
He’s growing, he’s growing

Eh. . .I don't know anything about Benjamin Button, and the principle of the story is weird to me. . .but it was certainly different. This particular Jay-Z song is. . .well it wasn't my favorite Jay-Z song, but I guess it shows a different side of him. . .

Not a huge fan of the OS (as with most Jay Z songs) but this a creative idea that was done well!

While I disagree with Dave and Abbott on the OS (I actually happen to like this song) this was still a great parody although I too am very unfamiliar with the topic it's based on.

(HHS) While I haven't seen the film, I know the basic premise, and luckily that's all I really needed to enjoy this parody. Wasn't too esoteric, just focused on the premise of a man aging in reverse. Nothing really LOL-funny, but this was very well-written. 555 for you!

This was clever at times, especially the last line "at 80 he's a portrait of young" playing off the original, but there were other times where the words were the same as the original where it didn't really make much sense. Some sections were very strong with the pacing but others it was clearly off to the point that it would make performing difficult. I do appreciate the effort involved, but due to the difficulty of rap parodies even with the considerable effort the final product is "ok" at best.
