The Lyrics

A lyric video for the original song, since it looks like I'm one of the first to submit a parody to this song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ih1Wizvad4. The bridge is my own creation based on the bridge in the original, so hopefully it's not too far off.
I went on a diet
And in my first week I lost five pounds or so I thought
When I drove up to the mall, lookin’ for some jeans to flatter my shape
Count my chickens before they hatch
Walked into Saks Fifth with my money saved up for some True Religions
A universally flattering brand of jeans

Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Is proving to be an embarrassing task
Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Has compelled the sales team to harass me like crazy

Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Is proving to be an embarrassing task
Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Has compelled the sales team to tell me to lose some weight

I was disappointed
Had to hang them up, yeah had to hang them up
And put them back where I found them
And sulked over to the makeup counters instead
I could use a makeover
Yet the ladies in their suits act like busybodies
Too busy for someone like me
So I tell one of them that my face is burning

Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Is proving to be an embarrassing task
Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Has compelled the sales team to harass me like crazy

Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Is proving to be an embarrassing task
Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Has compelled the sales team to tell me to lose some weight

Pull up these jeans
Pu-pu-pull up these jeans
Wo-wo-wonder if whistling
This here ditty would burn calories

[Whistling]

Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Is proving to be an embarrassing task
Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Has compelled the sales team to harass me like crazy

Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Is proving to be an embarrassing task
Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Has compelled the sales team to tell me to lose some weight

Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Is proving to be an embarrassing task
Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Has compelled the sales team to recommend a diet

Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Is proving to be an embarrassing task
Pulling up these jeans over too-wide hips
Has compelled me to go on yet another diet

Another nice one Rebekah! WHY is it that women obssess so much over weight? I like a woman with some meat on her as well as the Hotties. I once dated a woman so thin that she kept trying to wear her daughter's jeans!!! I dumped her b/c I started to see her ribs and that is just too much!!! Besides, when we ate out she never ate much of anything...

Thank you. I feel that a reason why women obsess so much over weight is because the media imposes upon them what the perfect body looks like, and they try to measure up to this "perfect" (translation: unattainable) image by going on diets and exercising themselves into oblivion. Some of them may have also had female (or even male) relatives who were constantly dieting and obsessing about calories, and/or they were raised to believe that they were ugly in their own skin. Or they were abused and this left them to feel damaged. I used to work as a model for a couple years, but I was no Skinny Minnie, nor would I ever be. I also know how it feels to feel ugly because people have called me ugly for so many years that I've come to believe that I was. (Sad, I know.) As I grow older and wiser, I've seen that incorporating that knowledge into my acts (plus years of therapy and good, nonjudgmental friends) has helped me to become more comfortable and feel more beautiful in my own skin.
