The Lyrics
Those of you who know your rock 'n' roll history know that Lynyrd Skynyrd's song "Sweet Home Alabama" was written as a response to Neil Young's songs "Alabama" and "Southern Man," which criticized the American South and the state of Alabama for racism, right? Now I am NOT a racist. I am not writing this song from my own point of view but from the viewpoints of members of Lynyrd Skynyrd who were offended by Mr. Young's songs. The reason that Canada is mentioned in the chorus, of course, is because Neil Young is Canadian. This is what Cee-Lo Green's song "F*** You" would sound like if it were written by members of Lynyrd Skynyrd in response to Neil Young instead of them having written "Sweet Home Alabama."
